Simone Biles, considered by many to be the GOAT of gymnastics, already has five original artistic gymnastic elements named after her, which includes two on the floor, two on the vault and one on the beam.
Biles has the most moves named after her out of all current active gymnasts. Only Nellie Kim, a former Soviet Olympic gold medallist, has more moves than her.
At Paris 2024, where she will be looking to add to her seven Olympic medals, there is talk that she will unveil a sixth original move.
Here is everything you need to know about Biles' original moves.

what moves does Simone biles have named after her?

Element 1: The Biles on floor
The Biles (floor) was debuted at the 2013 Gymnastics World Championship. This move sees Biles perform a double layout which includes a half-twist on the second layout.
A double-layout with a half-twist sees Biles perform a double backflip with her body in a straight position. On the second rotation in mid-air, she will then twist her body 180 degrees to land facing where she started.

Element 2: The Biles II on floor
The Biles II on floor was first performed by Simone Biles at the 2019 World Championships. This move is a double somersault with a triple twist.
This movement on the floor sees Biles handspring into a backwards somersault. While somersaulting in mid-air, she will twist her body 360 degrees three times before landing.
Element 3: The Biles on vault
The Biles on vault was first performed by her on the vault at the 2018 World Championships and has many moving parts to it. This move is a round-off into a backwards handspring, resulting in her doing a double-twisting somersault.
First, the round-off is like a cartwheel. However, it will see Biles landing with both of her feet placed together on the springboard.
She will then be catapulted to the vault where she will perform a backwards handspring.
Then she rounds off the performance by doing a backwards somersault whilst twisting 360 degrees two times in a row before landing.

Element 4: The Biles II on vault
Simone Biles first performed The Biles II on vault at the 2023 World Championships. Also known as the Yurchenko Double Pike, Biles was spotted doing this move ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
During the women's artistic gymnastics qualification, she executed this move in style making it the first time this move has ever been performed at an Olympic Games.
This element is complex again, so let's break it down: she will first perform the aforementioned round-off onto the springboard where she will be sent flying towards the vault.
Then, Biles will do a backwards handspring off of the vault which will see her fly into the air.
Once airborne, she will do a double-somersault while in pike. The pike position is a straight-legged position with her arms reaching towards her legs.

Element 5: The Biles on beam
Simone Biles debuted this move at the 2019 World Championships. This movement is a certain way in which she dismounts the beam. This has also been called a double-double beam dismount.
This is slightly simpler to explain. She will perform a double twist as she dismounts, capped off with a double somersault.
