The Los Angeles Dodgers capped off a remarkable World Series with a 5-4 Game 7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays were going for a first title in 32 years but let a 3-0 lead slip as the game went into extra innings. Will Smith sealed what turned out to be decisive run in the 11th as the Dodgers defended the World Series they won 12 months ago in stunning fashion.

The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team in 25 years to claim back-to-back World Series crowns with a thrilling 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the deciding seventh game.
The defending champions trailed 3-0 in the third inning but fought back to take the contest into extra innings.
Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas home runs levelled the game for the Dodgers at 4-4 in the ninth before Will Smith sealed the victory with a solo homer off Shane Bieber in the 11th inning.
The Blue Jays were seeking a first World Series triumph since 1993 and had a chance to grab a game-tying run at the bottom of the frame, but with runners at first and third base, Alejandro Kirk grounded into a double play to extinguish their hopes.
The Dodgers trailed 3-2 after Game 5 but dug deep to take it all the way and then create another slice of history in the decider.
And they did it the hard way. When Bo Bichette hit a three-run homer in the third, it looked like it could be the Blue Jays’ night, but the Dodgers rallied and produced the goods when they needed it most.

Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was voted the Most Valuable Player of the series, fittingly sealed the win, sparking wild scenes of celebration at the end of what was a remarkable series.
Asked how he was feeling in the immediate aftermath, Muncy said: "Pretty amazing right now. It’s hard to say any World Series is better than the other, but this is the best one so far."
