England legend James Anderson has been included in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction shortlist for 2025, while fast bowler Jofra Archer has been left out.
Anderson, 42, is one of 37 England-qualified players involved in the auction, while batter Joe Root and fast bowler Mark Wood are also not on the list.
Anderson is England's leading wicket-taker and retired from international cricket in July.
He has not featured since his final Test against West Indies at Lord's last summer, and his last appearance in a Twenty20 (T20) match came in 2014.
The full list for the auction, which will take place over two days on November 24-25, has been reduced from 1,574 entries to 574 following talks between the 10 IPL teams.
All centrally-contracted England players were available to put their name forward, but according to reports, it is unclear whether Archer was on the original list, has since withdrawn, or been cut altogether.

The 29-year-old, who was named the IPL's most valuable player in 2020, has struggled with a series of back and elbow injuries in recent years which has impacted his international career.
Dates for the 2025 IPL have not yet been confirmed.
England players included
Rule changes mean that Wood, Root and England Test captain Ben Stokes are not available, as players who have previously featured in the IPL and are not in the current auction will not be able to play in the competition for the next two years.
Alongside Anderson, the standout names on the shortlist include white-ball captain Jos Buttler, wicket-keeper-batter Jonny Bairstow and batter Ollie Pope.
