He made history by becoming the first bowler on record to deliver five successive wicket maidens.
The 32-year-old all-rounder’s purple patch came after a six-over period earlier in the match, in which he conceded 27 runs without taking a wicket.
His maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket was instrumental in a late collapse for Pakistan, as they were dismissed for 282 after losing their last seven wickets for just 38 runs.
It left the visitors trailing following the teams' opening innings, after West Indies set a total of 311, with Greaves posting 15 runs.
"When I came on, captain Roston Chase just said, 'continue to be disciplined in what you are doing' and to see if I can get some wickets for the team," Greaves said.
"The ball nipped around, and I got some reward. Any time I get the ball in hand, the team looks to me to be that solid player for them and try to dig us out of situations.
"To get five wickets for the first time in Test cricket, I'm really happy, but there's still a lot of work to do in the game."
Former captain Shan Masood was the first Pakistan player to fall at the hands of Greaves, bowled for 109 as he inside-edged on to his stumps.
Aamer Jamal was dismissed in the following over as Greaves uprooted his middle stump, before the Barbadian trapped Ali Usman lbw.
Greaves then had Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Abbas both caught behind to complete the five-wicket haul.
West Indies established a lead of 155 runs after reaching stumps on day three on 126-7 in their second innings, with Greaves hitting 20.
The fourth day of the match - live on and HBO Max - promises to be a fascinating one.
