Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo admits that celebrating in style after winning six gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games ensured he was in the right state of mind to come out on top at the FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup event in Falun.
Klaebo won the men’s free sprint in Sweden just seven days on from completing a cross-country skiing clean sweep in Italy.
Klaebo stormed to victory in the 10km freestyle, the 20km skiathlon, the 50km classical and the Sprint classic while playing a crucial role in Norway’s victories in the 4×7.5km relay and the team sprint freestyle.
It would be fair to question whether Klaebo would be able to complete such a quick turnaround after his heroic efforts in Milano Cortina, but he revealed that a massive celebration ensured he would be in the right state of mind to secure another victory in Sweden.
"It was a hard final, but I think after the last day of the Olympics I managed to have a good party," he said.
"I think that helped me with being able to come here. I think that was crucial.
"Absolutely [the party helped], I think you know what I am talking about."

The 29-year-old star recorded another World Cup win after crossing the finish line in 2:42.71.
That was enough to see him get ahead of Lars Heggen, who took second place after finishing 0.36 seconds behind his compatriot. Austria's Benjamin Moser completed the podium after finishing third in a time of 2:44.34.
Klaebo was happy to continue his impressive run of form at such a fun event.
"It feels good," he said. "I like to compete, and it is always fun to race here in Falun.
"It is always a great atmosphere, and to be able to start the weekend now with a win is amazing. So, I am already looking forward to tomorrow."
