Team GB's Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat were hoping this year would be different. Four years on from their heartbreaking defeat to Norway in the curling mixed doubles semi-final in Beijing, they suffered the same fate against Sweden - despite being the dominant team in the round-robin stage, a run which included victory over their semi-final opponents. They do, however, have the chance to win bronze.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat of Team GB have suffered another crushing Winter Olympics semi-final defeat as their hopes of a gold medal were dashed by Sweden on Monday.
On their Olympics debut four years ago in Beijing, Dodds and Mouat were heartbroken following defeat to Norway in the semi-final. In Milano Cortina, they suffered the same fate - this time against Sweden - in a disappointing end to a fantastic few days of form.
Dodds and Mouat will now hope they can go one better than in Beijing and claim a bronze medal. They were defeated by Sweden in the bronze medal match in 2022 - and will look to avoid similar disappointment when they take on Italy in the bronze medal match on Tuesday.
The Team GB duo dominated the round-robin stage at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium with eight victories from their nine matches - a run which included a 7-4 win over Sweden on Friday.
But they shook hands with their counterparts following the seventh end in Monday's semi-final, knowing a 9-3 deficit was insurmountable with the damage done in a disastrous sixth end which saw Sweden score five.
It had been a relatively even contest until that point, Team GB looking nervy at points and struggling to truly make the hammer count. They were level at 3-3 after the fifth end, before the scoreline got out of hand.

Dodds had it all to do with her final throw in order to keep Team GB in gold medal contention when Rasmus Wrana sent a fourth stone onto the house.
A miscue saw the Scot fail to clear the yellows, allowing Isabella Wrana to simply slide home for a fifth - creating a huge gulf in the scoreline.
"We struggled with our weight control today, we were heavy with a lot of things, and that is going to hurt you with mixed doubles - if you don’t get control of the top of the house you are going to be in trouble and that’s exactly what happened," Mouat told TNT Sports afterwards.
Dodds and Mouat remain in with a shot at claiming their maiden Olympic medals on Tuesday but will be bitterly disappointed with this defeat having been the standout team in Cortina thus far.

"We know what we did wrong," Mouat added, "which is probably the first thing we need to admit to ourselves, and we are still in a pretty good position coming out with the hammer in the bronze medal game. We are not totally down and out, we will come and fight."
Only Switzerland managed to defeat Team GB in the round-robin stage - setting up a seemingly favourable play-off field - with Dodds and Mouat having defeated all three of the other semi-finalists.
In a tense clash on the adjacent sheet, Team USA sealed their spot in the final with a 9-8 win over hosts Italy.
