Team GB were defeated 10-7 by Sweden in the women’s curling at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games to leave the defending champions up against it in a bid to make the semi-finals.
The Beijing 2022 gold medallists came into the match off the back of a good victory against Canada, hoping to build on that momentum having lost their opening two games to China and Korea.
Sweden, however, have started impressively and remain unbeaten on top of the round-robin with a 100% record.
The British team started well, taking two in the opening end only to give away three in the second end and again in the fourth end.
Chasing the game from there on, Sweden again scored in the fifth and sixth ends for an 8-3 lead.
Great Britain scored two to keep the match alive going into the eighth end but that left Sweden with the hammer and they duly pulled off a draw with the last stone to score again.

That left it 9-5 to the Swedes going into the ninth end but Team GB had a chance at a two if Rebecca Morrison could draw. And she did, taking the match to a final end.
But Sweden had the hammer again and they were never going to let their opposition score, taking one for a 10-7 win.
"A very, very solid performance by this Swedish team, looking in fine fettle," said TNT Sports commentator Richard Vaughan.
"Five played, five wins, they are at the top at the moment of the 10 teams playing here.

"A defeat for Great Britain. It is not all over. They played a tough game against Canada, they played two tough games against the Koreans and the Chinese. Let’s see what they can do - you never know."
Of the team to take gold in Beijing, only Jennifer Dodds remains - she is now joined by Morrison, Sophie Jackson and Sophie Sinclair.
But they need a big turnaround if they are to make it to the next stage of the competition.
Their next match is against Denmark on Monday and then they take on Switzerland. Another defeat would likely end their medal hopes, or at least leave them relying on other results.
