Sweden saw their dominant run at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina through to beat Switzerland to the gold medal in the women's curling final. Team GB were the defending champions in the event, but did not progress to the semi-final stage, as Sweden dispatched Canada and then the Swiss to seal their fourth gold medal in the event. In a nervy and thrilling final, Sweden secured their fourth women's curling Winter Olympic gold medal with a 6-5 victory over Switzerland on Sunday.
It was the second curling gold for the nation after brother-sister duo Rasmus Wrana and Isabella Wrana won mixed glory, defeating Team GB's Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds en route.
Sunday's triumph went right down to the wire, with Anna Hasselborg scoring a single decisive point in the 10th and final end to seal the slender victory.
With that throw, Hasselborg became just the second woman after compatriot Anette Norberg to win two Olympic gold medals as skip.
Great Britain came to Milano Cortina as defending champions, having won gold in Beijing four years ago with the team led by Eve Muirhead.
Jen Dodds was the only woman remaining from that gold medal-winning team, but her and her crew failed to progress beyond the round-robin stage in Italy.

In a dominant run, Sweden topped the round-robin standings with seven victories in their nine matches - including a 10-7 triumph over Great Britain.
Of the three curling events, Sweden were the only team who topped the round robin to progress through to the gold medal match.

They limited Canada to just three points in a 6-3 semi-final victory to make Sunday's final, and triumphed in another relatively low-scoring match to claim gold.
It marked yet more Swiss heartbreak in women's curling finals, having suffered defeat at the same stage in 2002 and 2006.
