British Cycling confirm Katy Marchant recovering in hospital following Track Champions League crash

Paris 2024 gold medallist Katy Marchant is recovering in hospital following her Track Champions League crash on Saturday night. The Leeds rider sustained two fractures and two dislocated fingers when she crashed into the crowd at Lee Valley VeloPark alongside fellow racer Alessa-Catriona Propster during their keirin heat at the London venue. Four spectators were also treated.

Katy Marchant is in "good spirits" following her UCI Track Champions League collision on Saturday night, according to a statement from British Cycling.
The 2024 Olympic gold medallist collided with German rider Alessa-Catriona Propster and several spectators, an incident which ultimately caused the evening's events to be curtailed.
While Propster avoided injury, Marchant was taken to the hospital and has suffered two fractures in her arm and two dislocated fingers.
Along with Marchant and Propster, four spectators received medical treatment following the incident.
"After receiving prompt medical attention from the track medical team, Katy Marchant (Great Britain) was escorted to the hospital by the British Cycling doctor," read a statement from British Cycling.
"X-rays revealed a fractured radius and ulna in her right forearm, along with two dislocated fingers.
"Katy is in good spirits and is receiving excellent care from her medical team. We wish her a full and speedy recovery."
