Demi Vollering is out for revenge at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift after her dramatic defeat last year. The pre-race favourite is expected to face competition from recent Giro d'Italia Women winner Elisa Longo Borghini, defending champion Kasia Niewiadoma and Marlen Reusser in the fight for yellow. The 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift is just around the corner, with Kasia Niewiadoma returning to defend the yellow jersey she won in dramatic circumstances a year ago.
Niewiadoma stunned the cycling world to win the Tour by just four seconds, gritting her way up the final climb to deny Demi Vollering an emotional second win.
It could have been so different. Vollering, then of SD Worx-Protime, crashed when leading the race on Stage 5. But rather than sit up and wait for the race leader, as is often customary in the men's race, the pace remained high - with Vollering's own team contributing in search of a sprint win.
As SD Worx celebrated a victory for Blanka Vas, Vollering came home almost two minutes in arrears as she fell down the general classification order. The team's tactics were heavily criticised - a situation that was magnified when Vollering fell agonisingly short of the overall title, despite a stirring fightback in the mountains.
Now riding for FDJ-Suez, Vollering is looking to become the first two-time winner in the race's short history. So too is Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto), while recent Giro d'Italia Women champion Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE ADQ) and Marlen Reusser (Movistar) are also expected to be in the mix.

The 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift begins on Saturday, July 26.
Spanning nine stages over as many days, the race concludes at Portes du Soleil in the Alps on Sunday, August 3.

The 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift begins in Brittany, with Vannes hosting the start of the race.
The route then transverses the country from west to east, saying a brief hello to the Massif Central before getting stuck into the Alps on the final weekend.
