Lotte Kopecky scooped the prestigious rainbow jersey in last year's World Championship women's road race, and the Belgian is now tasked with retaining it, as she returns to the road looking to put the major title to her name once again. The road race kicks off on September 28 - live on discovery+ - as the great and good of women's cycling tangle for glory in Zurich, Switzerland.

Lotte Kopecky will be vying to keep the distinguished rainbow jersey as the Belgian returns to road race action in the World Championship on September 28.
Kopecky claimed a stunning victory for Belgium in last year's iteration, adding the accolade in the same week she had already claimed two world titles in the velodrome.
The 28-year-old is now tasked with keeping the famous rainbow bands after a season which saw her fail to pick up a Grand Tour title - though she finished runner-up in the Giro d'Italia.
The Belgian's Grand Tour campaign was blighted somewhat by her absence from the Tour de France Femmes, but she still enters the World Championship road race with good momentum after claiming European Championship time-trial glory earlier in September.
Vuelta champion Demi Vollering will be on the roads in Zurich, leading a Dutch team which has yet to be confirmed - but the Netherlands captain will be a favourite for time trial glory after finishing on the podium in the previous two editions.
Meanwhile, Grace Brown will lead Australia in her final World Championships before hanging up her wheels, looking to bow out in style after a fantastic season - securing victory in Liege-Bastogne-Liege, before winning individual time trial golds at the Australian Championships and the Paris Olympic Games.
