Champions crowned in the League of Legends and the Dota 2 tournaments at the Esports World Cup

The champions of the League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments were crowned today at the Esports World Cup in a thrilling end to the second week of action.

In the League of Legends competition, we were treated to the third-place playoff before the Grand Final, which saw T1 square off against Gen.G Esports. In this tense affair it was Gen.G Esports that emerged as the winner by beating T1 2-1 in their match.

The 2025 champions will have been pleased to have collected the bronze medal, with this hopefully helping to make up slightly for their inability to maintain their title in this competition.

Then in the Grand Final we watched as Karmine Corp played DPlus Kia in an enthralling affair that had everyone on the edge of their seats. DPlus Kia would emerge victorious with a 3-0 win, and in the process, they lifted the trophy, and to add to this silverware, they have earned a prize pot of $600,000.

Meanwhile, in the Dota 2 tournament, we have been served incredible action from across the last week, which was brought to a close today with the third-place playoff and the Grand Final.

The third-place playoff would see Vici Gaming square off with Team Yandex in an incredible game, which would see one of the teams collect a 2-0 victory. This would be Team Yandex, as they collected third-place and, in the process, a bronze medal from this year's Esports World Cup in this competition. BB Team and PVision would compete in the Grand Final following this clash between the two defeated semi-finalists.

After four thrilling games it would be PVision that would win the trophy in the Dota 2 tournament, as they won 3-1 and, in the process, they collected a prize pot worth $750,000.

This victory will have felt even more special for PVision, as they were able to build on their third-place finish last year with a victory in the competition in 2026.
