League of Legends and Free Fire action get underway in the Esports World Cup

The League of Legends and Free Fire tournaments got underway today in the Esports World Cup, as action continued in the Dota 2 survival stage and MWI tournament.

We now know who will be progressing to the play-off stage of Dota 2, as four teams progressed from the Dota 2 survival stage. BB Team, Vici Gaming, Team Spirit, and Rune Eaters beat LGD Gaming, 1W, Team Liquid, and Aurora Gaming, respectively, to progress to the play-offs of the Dota 2 tournament.

This will see Nigma Galaxy face BB Team, Team Falcons against Vici Gaming, and Team Yandex square off with Team Spirit, while PVISION will play Rune Eaters in tomorrow’s action.

Meanwhile, in the group stage of the MWI, from today’s action we saw who progressed from the upper bracket, as Team Rey Young and Geltek Cyber Team went through after they beat SAETA and Twisted Minds, respectively.

In the lower bracket, we saw Team Falcons progress along with Virtus.Pro and now they will face Twisted Minds and SAETA, respectively, to keep their hopes of winning the MWI trophy alive.

We also got to see the start of the League of Legends action with group stage action with all four of the pools getting underway. In Group A, we saw G2 Esports and AG.AL beat Furia and Dplus Kia to progress in the upper bracket, while in the lower bracket now is Dplus Kia, as they kept their hopes alive.

Group B witnessed the progression of Sentinels and Gen.G Esports in the upper bracket, while Karmine Corp was left in the lower bracket as they beat Team Secret. BiliBili Gaming and T1 remain in the upper bracket from Group C, while in the lower bracket, GAM Esports beat Movistar Koi to remain in the tournament.

Then in Group D we saw Hanwha Life Esports and JD Gaming progress in the upper bracket, while remaining in the lower bracket is MIBR.LOS.

Meanwhile, in the Free Fire tournament we saw action from both Group A and Group B. Topping the action in Group A after six rounds is Buriram United Esports, while in second and third are GundyNasty and AG.AL respectively. Then in Group B, MIBR.LOS leads after the first six rounds, while Team Vitality and Fluxo W7M are in second and third, respectively.
