Could Chelsea win the quadruple? How Sonia Bompastor's side is shaping up in bid to lift four major trophies this season

With victory in their League Cup semi-final over West Ham United on Wednesday, high-fliers Chelsea are into their first final of what could be a hugely profitable season. The victory means Sonia Bompastor's side - who are undefeated since she took charge in March - are still on track to win a historic quadruple of trophies. We take a look at The Blues' chances of silverware this season.

It's a position serial winners Chelsea are used to being in. This season, they're once again in the hunt for a historic quadruple haul.
Sonia Bompastor's side reached their sixth successive League Cup final, and first under the Frenchwoman, with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United on Wednesday.
The Blues have now reached the League Cup final in every year since the 2019/20 season, but after finishing runners-up three times in a row, the pressure is now on to break that streak and continue the push for a quadruple.
They will go into the final full of confidence, on a 22-match unbeaten streak since Bompastor took the helm from long-serving manager Emma Hayes.
Standing in their way are two-time defending League Cup champions Arsenal or 2022 winners Manchester City, who play their semi-final on Thursday.
The signs are positive for Chelsea to secure their first silverware of the season - but how likely is their bid for the quadruple?

WHAT CAN CHELSEA WIN THIS SEASON?
Aside from the League Cup final, which will be held in Derby on March 15, Chelsea are fighting on three other fronts.
Barring a total collapse, yet another WSL title looks secured. They lead the domestic league by seven points over second-placed Manchester United, with Arsenal and City another three and five points further back, respectively.
The club is on course for a sixth consecutive title - and they've also strengthened in the January transfer window, shoring up the squad far more than their rivals have.
USA defender Naomi Girma joined for a world record fee, while England international Keira Walsh joined from Barcelona.
The Blues have also looked strong in the FA Cup, which they last won in the 2022/23 season. They play eighth-placed Everton on Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals, and they've also reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
WHAT HAVE CHELSEA SAID?
For all the talk of the quadruple, Bompastor herself has kept fairly quiet.
"The reality is we didn't win anything yet," she told BBC Sport. "If you get to the final, but you don't win, it doesn't mean anything. The focus is making sure we go deep in every competition, as deep as we can."
But captain Millie Bright has been much more bullish about their prospects.
"Every trophy we want, we want to lift them all," she said, adding that their new manager is "not afraid to say she wants every trophy and she wants everything we compete for.
"We want to win and I really like that. Putting it out there, there's nothing wrong with that and it sets the tone really high."
WHAT COULD STOP CHELSEA WINNING THE QUADRUPLE?
Chelsea have been in this position before: they had the opportunity to win four trophies in 2020/21, when they ultimately won the domestic treble, and again last season, when they came away with only the defence of their league title.
But Champions League glory continues to elude them: they lost 4-0 to Barcelona in the 2021 showpiece, and it remains the only trophy they have yet to win.
The Catalan giants also knocked them out in the semi-finals in the last two seasons, and are likely to be fierce opposition again this year should both sides progress.
Bompastor will be hoping their January recruitment will give them an edge over their rivals, and that her side can handle the pressure, as they seek a place in the history books.
