Long-serving Manchester United Women head coach Marc Skinner has left his post by "mutual agreement", it has been confirmed. The club is now looking for a successor with the new Women’s Super League season only a month away.

Skinner guided The Red Devils to one trophy, the 2024 Women’s FA Cup, during his five years at the club.
The team also finished WSL runners-up in the 2022/23 season, before United reached the League Cup final and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season.
A statement from the club said: "Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women.
"The club places on record its sincere thanks for his professionalism, commitment and dedication throughout his time at United, and wishes him every success in the future."
A club post on X added: "We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Marc for his significant contribution over the last five years."
Skinner had only signed a new contract with the club last year to stay on until June 2027, with the option of another year.
Speaking at the time, he said: "It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years."
However, that contract has now been terminated by mutual agreement, and the club are looking for a successor.
United kick off their WSL campaign with a fixture away to London City Lionesses, who signed two-time Ballon d'Or Feminin winner Alexia Putellas from Barcelona this summer, on September 4.
Skinner's departure comes months after he suggested the club needed to invest more in its women's team.
Speaking after a Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich in April, he said: "I think we will learn from what investment is really needed to go into this level of competition for consistent years.

"I think we're still learning as a club, of course we are."
Skinner added: "Because we wear Manchester United's badge, everybody expects us to be the very best team in the world.
"We have that expectation too. So that's the pinch point, because we want to be the best.
"We've got to grow, because we're eight years old. If we want to compete at this latter stage, we've seen what we've got to do as a club. And then it's our choice now, isn't it?
"We have to look at what we seriously want to achieve, and we'll learn and grow from it. Even as a club, we're still learning. It takes, sometimes, a punch in the face to wake up."
