Arsenal got past Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate to secure their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. After Declan Rice inspired them to a 3-0 first leg win at Emirates Stadium, they finished the job in the Spanish capital with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli scoring in a 2-1 win. It has already been a UEFA Champions League campaign full of thrilling drama - and that continued at the quarter-final stage, with a number of ties to remember.
Arsenal ended Real Madrid's reign as European champions with a stellar 5-1 aggregate victory.
Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund both fought valiantly in their respective quarter-finals, but second leg fightbacks proved not to be enough for either.
Villa beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 at Villa Park in the second leg but after losing 3-1 in the French capital in the first match, they were eliminated.
Dortmund were ousted by Barcelona, who swept them off the park with a 4-0 win in the first leg. Serhou Guirassy hit a hat-trick in the return fixture, but the 3-1 victory was not enough.
Inter Milan edged Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate.
The Italians scored a late winner in the first leg in Germany to win 2-1, before holding their opponents to a 2-2 draw in the return leg to progress.

Arsenal claimed a sensational 3-0 victory in their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid at the Emirates.
Declan Rice capped a mammoth performance by becoming the first player in history to score two free-kicks in a Champions League knockout game, while Mikel Merino added a third to seal victory for The Gunners.
Mikel Arteta's side were given the chance to make a perfect start at the Bernabeu in the second leg, only for Bukayo Saka's panenka penalty to be saved.
Saka redeemed himself with a beautiful chipped finish before Vinicius Junior equalised on the night for Real.
Gabriel Martinelli scored a late winner in Spain as Arsenal progressed 5-1 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa, who reached the last eight for the first time since 1983, were beaten 3-1 away at Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.
Morgan Rogers had given Unai Emery's men a first-half advantage but the hosts took the lead with goals from Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia either side of the break.
The visitors looked set to return to Villa Park with just a one-goal deficit but Nuno Mendes added a superb third in stoppage time, leaving Emery's men with an uphill battle to turn things around.
In the second leg, Villa very nearly produced a rousing comeback, winning 3-2 on the night thanks to goals from Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Ezri Konsa, having been 2-0 down.

Who will Arsenal face in UEFA Champions League semi-finals?

Arsenal's victory over defending champions Real Madrid means they will face PSG in the last four.
On the other side of the draw, Barcelona's reward for seeing off Borussia Dortmund is a last-4 tie against Inter Milan.
All roads lead to Munich for the Champions League final on May 31.
