With a three-point advantage at the top of the Premier League following their 1-0 win against Newcastle United, Arsenal can breathe a little easier going into their midweek European showdown.
Mikel Arteta's side can now focus on continuing their impressive run in the Champions League as they look to reach a first final since 2006.
They dominated the league phase of this season's competition with eight wins from eight games, which included victories against Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and the team they play in the last four, Atletico.

On Matchday 3, Arsenal swept Diego Simeone's team aside with ease as a Viktor Gyokeres brace and goals from Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli earned them a 4-0 win.
Knockout-stage wins against Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting have seen Arsenal reach consecutive Champions League semi-finals for the first time in their history.
Last season, they lost to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain at this stage of the competition.

Standing in their way this time are an Atletico side who needed the play-offs to reach the knockout phase.
They got past Club Brugge 7-4 on aggregate to set up a last-16 meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, who they beat 7-5 on aggregate.
A dramatic 3-2 quarter-final victory against Barcelona has left Diego Simeone's side just two matches away from a first final appearance for a decade.
