Los Angeles FC forward Son Heung-min returned to Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium for the first time since he left the club in the summer.
The South Korean forward became a hero for the club over the past decade, and came on as a substitute as Spurs memorably won the Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao in May.
The triumph ended a 17-year trophy drought for the Londoners, and also gave the 33-year-old his first taste of silverware with the club after some near misses in previous seasons.
There was speculation that he would call time on his career in Europe after finally lifting a trophy, and he departed in the summer to join MLS outfit LAFC.
He has started life at his new club in fine form, scoring 12 goals in 13 appearances for the Californian outfit.
And he was able to return to his old club ahead of their Champions League match with Slavia Prague, a game that is live on TNT Sports and discovery+. The MLS season has ended, giving the player the chance to make the transatlantic trip.
Club ambassador Ledley King presented him with a memento after his speech on the pitch, where he paid tribute to the club and his time there, and even invited the Spurs fans to come and see him in Los Angeles.
"Good evening, everyone, it’s Sonny here," he said. "I hope you guys don’t forget me. I’m still here. It’s been an amazing 10 years guys, it’s been an incredible 10 years.
"I just want to say thank you, and I will be always Spurs, and I’ll be always with you.
"This will be always my home. I will never forget you. Please, stay with me, and come visit LA when you want. I would love to have you guys, and I will see you very often. I love you all guys. Come on you Spurs!"

Son played 454 times for Tottenham, scoring 173 times over the course of 10 seasons with the club. He became captain in 2023 after the departure of Hugo Lloris, who also joined LAFC when he departed Spurs after an extended period with the club.
Son joined from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, for a fee of £22 million. He was signed by LAFC for a fee of $26.5m (£19.92m), a record fee for a signing made by an MLS team.
While the Europa League win was his only trophy with the club, he was also a runner-up with Tottenham in the 2020/21 EFL Cup - when they lost to Manchester City at Wembley - and in the 2018/19 Champions League, when they were beaten by Liverpool in Madrid.
Spurs had a number of fine league seasons during Son's time with the club too, including finishing third in 2015/16 and second behind Chelsea in 2016/17.
MLS will restart in February and run until December, before a transition gets underway to match the traditional summer start for most major leagues around the world.
