Marcus Rashford is Man Utd's 'biggest threat' and will want to 'tear it up' against Barcelona - Owen Hargreaves

Marcus Rashford could equal his goalscoring record for a single season in the match against Barcelona on Thursday evening in the Europa League playoff clash. The first leg sees the rejuvenated striker chosen to start by Erik ten Hag, and former Manchester United midfielders Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves both picked him out as a threat for the Premier League side.

Paul Scholes believes the “fantastic” Marcus Rashford will be inspired against Barcelona in their Europa League playoff clash, with Owen Hargreaves declaring him Manchester United's “biggest threat.”
The 25-year-old England forward has 21 goals already this season and needs just one more to equal his record haul for a single campaign.
Former United midfielder Scholes believes Rashford has turned a corner this season under manager Erik ten Hag, and the opportunity to play in a huge Europa League tie could see him improve further.
Scholes told BT Sport: “It’s a type of game that elevates anybody. It’s the biggest games, although it’s not Champions League, but Marcus has been in fantastic form.
"Marcus will probably come from the left, using his pace and power.
"He’s started scoring headed goals as well which is a little bit surprising, but even through the middle, he’s so capable, so confident, I think he’s been fantastic.
“I think this is potential we’ve been talking about for quite some time and I think now it has started to bear fruit.”
Former United midfield partner Hargreaves went further still, saying: “You need confidence, he’s literally on fire.
“Every game I think he’s going to score. He’ll be right up for it, he’s their biggest threat.
"I’m sure he’s going to relish it, it’s an iconic stadium, he’s going to want to come here and tear it up.”
The second leg takes place at Old Trafford on Thursday, February 23.
