Some stellar young talent will compete to win the 2024 Golden Boy award, after the shortlist was named. And it's a who's who of the best up-and-coming stars in the game, with the Premier League bringing six nominees. That contingent is Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Rico Lewis, Savio, Adam Wharton and Leny Yoro, but Barcelona's Lamine Yamal looks the hot favourite.

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal will be among the favourites to win the 2024 Golden Boy award, after the shortlist was announced.
Yamal, still only 17, starred for Spain at last summer's European Championships as his side beat England in the final to land their latest piece of international silverware.
The Golden Boy award, created in 2003 by the Italian outlet Tuttosport, recognises the best players under 21 playing in European leagues.
Jude Bellingham won the 2023 edition, following his exploits at Borussia Dortmund and then at Real Madrid following his move to the Spanish capital that summer.
Joining Yamal on the list are a host of Premier League youngsters, including Manchester United trio Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Leny Yoro, as well as Manchester City's Rico Lewis.
The shortlist is arrived at via a combination of data and journalist voting, with the winner to be announced in November, and then crowned at a ceremony in Turin on December 16.
