Real Madrid sign Spain defender Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth for £50m despite interest from multiple Premier League sides

Real Madrid will complete the signing of Spain international Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, having activated the defender's £50m release clause. The 20-year-old, who has played 34 times for Bournemouth since signing from Juventus, reportedly had offers from multiple Premier League sides but will join the Spanish giants at the end of the 2024/25 season.

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid at the end of the 2024/25 season after the Spanish club activated his release clause.
Huijsen, who grew up in Spain playing for Malaga’s youth team, joined Bournemouth last summer from Juventus for £12.6m.
He has played 34 times in all competitions for The Cherries, scoring three goals in his time on the south coast.
"AFC Bournemouth can confirm that defender Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, with the Spanish side having activated a £50 million release clause," read a statement on Bournemouth's website.
"Huijsen has made 30 appearances in the top flight this season, scoring goals against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal.
"The 20-year-old also earned his first caps for the Spanish national team in March, following a string of impressive performances for the Cherries.
"Everyone at AFC Bournemouth is looking forward to working with Dean for the remaining two games of the Premier League season, before he embarks on the next step of his career."
The £50m fee will reportedly be paid in three instalments over 18 months, with Huijsen’s former sides Juventus and Malaga set to receive 10% and 5% of the sum, respectively.
Bournemouth had reportedly received up to seven offers for the defender, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United all expressing interest.
