Strasbourg have announced Gary O'Neil will replace Chelsea bound Liam Rosenior as their new head coach. O'Neil, who had been without a managerial role since his sacking by Wolves in December 2024, takes over a side seventh in Ligue 1. He will lead his first training session on Thursday and is expected to be on the touchline for the trip to Avranches in the Coupe de France on Saturday.

Strasbourg have appointed Gary O'Neil as the club's new head coach on Tuesday following Liam Rosenior's exit.
It comes after Rosenior was announced as Chelsea's new head coach just a day earlier, following the departure of Enzo Maresca.
O'Neil will lead his first Strasbourg training session on Thursday before taking charge of the Ligue 1 side for the first time on Saturday, as they visit Avranches in the Coupe de France.
O'Neil said in a statement on the club's website: "I’m excited to get started and proud to be part of this fantastic club.
"It’s a club with a unique history, incredible passion, resilience, and of course, loyal supporters who want to see this team play well and be successful.
"We have an exciting group of players and clear, ambitious objectives for the season. My focus is on working hard with the squad to give everything for the club’s success."

O'Neil oversaw 37 matches as Bournemouth manager during the 2022-23 season, first in a caretaker position before his role was made permanent.
The Englishman guided the Cherries to a 15th-placed finish in the Premier League, but was sacked at the end of the campaign before being appointed Wolverhampton Wanderers manager that summer.
He then spent more than a year in the dugout at Molineux, taking them to 14th in the Premier League during the 2023-24 campaign, before being dismissed the following December.
As part of Strasbourg's announcement, confirming O'Neil's appointment, president Marc Keller said: "I am very happy to welcome Gary O'Neil to Racing.
"He is a demanding and recognised coach, with a modern approach to football that is fully part of the continuity of our sports project."

Rosenior's departure from Strasbourg has been controversial, with the Ligue 1 side part of the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital-owned BlueCo multi-club ownership group that also controls Chelsea.
Rosenior was appointed by Strasbourg in July 2024 and guided them to seventh in Ligue 1 last season, securing European football for the first time in eight years.
His final game was a 1-1 draw at Nice on Saturday, which has left them seventh in Ligue 1, while they are top of the UEFA Conference League table.
