Mary Earps included as Sarina Wiegman names 25-player squad for crunch Lionesses EURO 2025 qualification matches

England have named their 25-player squad ahead of their crunch UEFA Euro 2025 qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden.

England currently sit third in their qualification group behind Sweden on goal difference, with France topping the table with nine points.

Automatic qualification for the tournament now rests on the upcoming double header, with a top-two finish in the group enough to avoid a playoff clash and secure safe passage into the Euros next summer.

England host Republic of Ireland on July 12 and then travel to Sweden on July 16.

Goalkeeper Mary Earps will be with the squad as she continues her rehab to full fitness, as will Chelsea defender Niamh Charles.

England’s starting goalkeeper Earps has left Manchester United following the expiration of her contract, with the 31-year-old reportedly set to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Earps’ fitness will be a talking point of the camp, with the hero of the World Cup campaign in Australia limping off in tears during England’s defeat to France at St James’ Park last month. She was spotted after the game on crutches.

Orlando Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse has received her debut call up to the senior squad and will join up with the squad on the July 8 after completing club commitments. Bayern Munich’s Georgia Stanway will also be a late arrival to camp and is set to link up with the squad next Monday.

Southampton’s Kayla Rendell, Arsenal’s Lotte Wubben-Moy and Chelsea’s Lauren James have all withdrawn from the squad through injury and will continue their rehabilitation at their clubs.

The Lionesses travel to manager Sarina Wiegman’s homeland of the Netherlands for a preparation camp which includes a friendly against the Dutch national team behind closed doors on Thursday.

The team will then travel back to St George’s Park before hosting the Republic of Ireland at Norwich City’s Carrow Road on Friday, July 12.
