Thierry Henry says he is "living a dream" after his France team advanced to the men's football final at the Paris 2024 Olympics after coming from behind to win 3-1 against Egypt.
Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta equalised against Egypt late on in a dramatic semi-final to take the game to extra time.
It wasn't long before Mateta scored again, putting France 2-1 up in the 99th minute. Michael Olise added a third to seal the deal.
After their victory, Henry told AFP: "I am mainly happy for Team France. When you see everyone picking up medals all over the place, you say to yourself that you can't let them down.
"You don't want to be the team that doesn't win a medal, and now we will see what colour we get.
"But honestly I am living a dream and I don't want to wake up."
Henry admitted the final against Spain will be a tough test. La Roja, fresh off their success at Euro 2024, overcame Morocco in their semi-final.
"You know how difficult it is going to be against them," Henry added. "They are often in the finals of competitions, in both men's and women's football."
Mateta has been the star of France’s Olympics so far with four goals to his name, leading his side to victory against Argentina and Egypt in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
"We have been talking about the Games for a year and a half now, and finally we get to go to Paris," said Mateta.

Spain are led by manager Santiago Denia Sanchez, who played for Atletico Madrid and Albacete in La Liga before becoming a coach.
Barcelona's Fermin Lopez and Villarreal's Alex Baena will be targeting a summer double having been part of Spain's victorious Euros squad in Germany.
"We want to thank them for making the effort to be here at the Olympic Games and for having the commitment to be at both tournaments," Denia said.
