Chris Wood was on target for his ninth league goal of the season as Nottingham Forest beat Ipswich Town, while there was another hat-trick in Brentford's easy win over Leicester City. Justin Kluivert made Premier League history on Saturday when he became the first player to score three penalties in a single match.

The Bournemouth star struck three times from the spot in an entertaining 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, rubbing salt into the wounds of former boss Gary O’Neil.

There were three goals in the opening eight minutes of a frantic opening half, as Kluivert buried his first penalty after just three minutes following a foul from Joao Gomes on Evanilson.

It was Jorgen Strand Larsen - who went on to score a brace himself - who pulled the visitors level on the south coast when he equalised just two minutes later with a pinpoint header.

But Milos Kerkez had Bournemouth back in front three minutes later with a fierce finish into the roof of the net at the front post.

Jose Sa clipped Evanilson’s ankle for a second Bournemouth penalty, which led to Kluivert giving The Cherries some breathing room with his second on 18 minutes.

Strand Larsen halved the deficit with a little over 20 minutes to play with a powerful finish, but Sa committed another foul on Evanilson and Kluivert put the away side back in cruise control.

Bournemouth held out for the win, which moved them up to 11th in the league table, while Wolves remain in the relegation zone.

Wood scores again as Forest beat Ipswich

Chris Wood scored his ninth goal of the season as Nottingham Forest bounced back from defeat to Arsenal to beat Ipswich Town and climb back into the top six.

The New Zealand marksman found the target in a 1-0 win, finding the net from the spot in the 50th minute.

Both Ipswich and Forest had plenty of chances in the first half, but neither could find the net in a frustrating first 45 minutes.

But it did not take Wood long to put the hosts ahead at the City Ground when Sammie Szmodics tripped Jota Silva in the box to give Wood the chance to break the deadlock five minutes after the break.

Forest denied Ipswich an equaliser with resilience at the back to collect all three points before a trip to Manchester City next week.

Palace salvage draw at home to Newcastle

Newcastle United looked to be on their way to bouncing back from defeat to West Ham United before Crystal Palace struck late on to earn a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

A well-worked free-kick routine saw Anthony Gordon fizz the ball across the six-yard box, which Marc Guehi turned into his own net early in the second half to put Newcastle ahead.

Palace pushed and pushed for an equaliser, which looked beyond them as the clock ticked over 90 minutes and Newcastle held firm.

But Guehi made up for his earlier own goal, swinging a cross to Daniel Munoz, who nodded in at the back post in the 93rd minute.

Newcastle have now failed to win four of their last six Premier League games and have dropped to 10th, while Palace moved out of the relegation zone with their late point.

Schade gets three as Brentford hammer Leicester

Kevin Schade became the second Premier League player to score a hat-trick on Saturday as the striker helped Brentford beat Leicester City 4-1.

It was Leicester who took the lead in the 21st minute under interim boss Ben Dawson when Facundo Buonanotte put the away side ahead.

But Yoane Wissa equalised four minutes later with his seventh goal of the season, and then Schade quickly put the hosts ahead with his first goal of the day.

Schade added a second eight minutes into added time at the end of the first half, before scoring his third on the hour mark to become only the fourth German to grab a hat-trick in the league behind Jurgen Klinsmann, Fredi Bobic, and Andre Schurrle.
