The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder will leave Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, and with that news, the time is right to check out where he stands in the Premier League's all-time assist rankings. Mohamed Salah is also climbing the ranks after signing a new contract with Liverpool.

Kevin De Bruyne has been at the heart of Manchester City's attack for almost a decade, pulling the strings and producing countless moments of pure class.
The Belgian midfielder may have announced that he will call time on his City career at the end of the season, but his performances will live long in the memory.
Mohamed Salah is also among the most creative players in Premier League history, and his impressive tally of assists in the 2024/25 season has moved him closer to some of the all-time greats.
With that in mind, let us look at where both players are in the all-time assist standings.
10. Mohamed Salah (87 assists)
Mohamed Salah is now in the top 10 after racking up 18 (and counting) assists in the Premier League this season.
He is bidding to become the first player in the division's history to get over 20 goals and assists in a single season.
And after he finally ended speculation surrounding his Liverpool future by signing a new two-year deal, expect Salah to climb further up the standings.
9. James Milner (89 assists)
Not just impressive for his longevity and work-rate, James Milner has been providing ammunition for strikers for more than two decades.
The former Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle winger was particularly productive in the early years of his career, establishing a reputation as one of the Premier League's best crossers.

Steven Gerrard's many spectacular goals will live long in the memory for Liverpool fans, but the all-action midfielder was creative too.
Equally capable of whipping in a pinpoint cross or threading a through ball behind a defence, Gerrard was a striker's dream team-mate.
7. David Silva (93 assists)
Before De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City and took the club to new heights, David Silva was arguably the greatest attacking midfielder to have worn the sky blue shirt.
The diminutive Spaniard quickly took to life in the Premier League after arriving from Valencia in 2010, racking up 93 assists and winning four league titles.

A gloriously silky forward, Dennis Bergkamp earned a reputation for producing moments of brilliance during his 11 years at Arsenal.
While never as prolific as his attacking partner Thierry Henry, the Dutchman became more of a provider as his career with The Gunners progressed.
5. Frank Lampard (102 assists)
Frank Lampard is probably better remembered for his goalscoring exploits than his passing range.
However, the former West Ham United, Chelsea and Man City star could unlock a defence at the drop of a hat.
He is currently fifth in the all-time assist standings with 102 in the Premier League.

4. Wayne Rooney (103 assists)
Lampard's former England team-mate Wayne Rooney is fourth with 103 assists.
Manchester United's all-time leading scorer formed lethal partnerships with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Robin van Persie while at Old Trafford.
It is a testament to the all-around player that he was that he finds himself on this list alongside some of the most creative midfielders the Premier League has ever seen.

3. Cesc Fabregas (111 assists)
Speaking of creative midfielders, former Arsenal and Chelsea man Cesc Fabregas is in third with 111 assists.
The World Cup winner was electric for The Gunners, leaving to join Spanish giants Barcelona before returning to England to represent Chelsea.
He played a central role in their Premier League title triumph during the 2014/15 campaign, and will go down among the best the league has ever seen.

2. Kevin De Bruyne (119 assists)
De Bruyne has registered 119 assists in the Premier League, with all but one coming at Man City (the other at Chelsea during the 2013/14 campaign), which is enough to see him in second place.
His passing range and calm demeanour in front of goal have helped City to six Premier League titles and some of the greatest individual campaigns in the competition's history.
However, he is not the player with the most Premier League assists.
1. Ryan Giggs (162 Assists)
That honour goes to Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who set up 162 Premier League goals during his lengthy Red Devils career.
De Bruyne's second place is an incredible achievement, though, considering he played far fewer games than Giggs.
The Welsh winger is also third in the all-time Premier League appearance rankings after managing 632 games in red.
