Eden Hazard: Chelsea legend becomes 26th person to be inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

Eden Hazard scored 85 Premier League goals and created 54 assists in a dazzling Premier League career, which has seen him become the 26th former player or manager to be inducted into the league's prestigious Hall of Fame. The ex-Chelsea winger is the latest player to join the iconic group, which includes the likes of Thierry Henry, John Terry, Steven Gerrard and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard is the latest former English top-flight star to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

Hazard became the 26th recipient of the highest individual honour awarded by the league when his inclusion was announced on Wednesday.

Upon joining The Blues in 2012, Hazard played a key role in bringing six major trophies to Stamford Bridge during a seven-year spell, including two Premier League titles in 2014/15 and 2016/17.

In the Premier League, Hazard scored 85 goals and contributed 54 assists in 245 appearances.

He is ranked 51st in the Premier League's all-time goalscoring charts, but the ex-Belgian international was best known for his exceptional dribbling ability, creativity, and flair, which made him one of the league's most exciting players over the years.

His electrifying solo goal in a 3-1 home victory against Arsenal - where he ran from the halfway line before dinking the ball over David Ospina from close range - has gone down as one of his best moments in a Chelsea shirt as the club closed in on their fifth and most recent Premier League success.

Not only did he help bring titles to Chelsea, but he played a key role in Leicester City's unbelievable title triumph in 2016 - one of the most iconic moments in Premier League history. He scored the second goal in a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur - with a brilliant curled effort - which secured The Foxes a fairytale Premier League maiden crown.

Hazard netted a welcome nine goals and registered 11 assists in his debut season for the reigning UEFA Champions League winners under Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez during 2012/13.

The following season, he was named PFA Young Player of the Year with an improved 14 goals to his name.

He matched those numbers in 2014/15 as he won his first Premier League title, as well as contributing nine assists, claiming the PFA Player of the Year award in the process.

After disappointment in 2015/16 when Hazard managed just four league goals, he returned in style the following term with his best goal tally to date (16) as Chelsea won the league under Antonio Conte in the Italian's infamous 3-4-3 system.

His best season for Chelsea was his last, however, where he scored 16 goals and registered 15 assists before leaving to join Real Madrid in a reported £130 million move.

Not only did he excel in the Premier League for Chelsea, but Hazard also won the UEFA Europa League twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his time in west London.

Last week, former Manchester United captain Gary Neville was inducted into the Hall of Fame, as he and Hazard were selected for induction this year by the 24 existing Hall of Fame members.

The Hall of Fame was established in 2021, celebrating the league's most iconic players and managers since its inception in 1992.
