Liverpool had been quiet for the vast majority of the summer transfer window under new manager Arne Slot but the Reds are clicking into gear. First they signed Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, and now they have added Italian forward Federico Chiesa from Juventus. Chiesa comes in on a reported four-year deal after spending the past four seasons in Turin with Juve.

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Italy international Federico Chiesa from Serie A giants Juventus as their second transfer of the summer.
The transfer fee is reported to be €15 million with Chiesa entering the last year of his deal at Juventus, and the Italian has signed a contract until 2028.
Chiesa, 26, had fallen out of favour under new Juventus manager Thiago Motta and was previously linked to FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Arsenal amongst others.
However, it is Liverpool who swooped in to sign the forward, and he becomes the team's second signing under new manager Arne Slot, after Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was bought from Valencia, and then loaned back to the La Liga club for the season.
Speaking to the club's official website, Chiesa said: “I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player.
"When Richard Hughes called me and he said, 'Do you want to join Liverpool?' – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans.
“So, I'm so happy and I can't wait to get started.”
Chiesa will wear the No. 14 for Liverpool and explained why he will wear that number, as well as saying that he has already started singing a famous Reds song.
He added: “It’s the number I’ve been wearing with the national team but it was an easy pick because Liverpool sent me a video and at the end of this video – which was showing my career [and] the goals I scored with Fiorentina and Juventus – it was me with the No.14 shirt on so I said, ‘Ah, it was destined to be!’, so I chose the No.14.
"And I just want to say something that stuck to my mind when I was about to land [in] the aeroplane.
"I saw Anfield and as soon as I saw Anfield I said to my wife, 'Put the song on – You'll Never Walk Alone – because I want to imagine myself playing there and hearing the chant of the fans.' It was just a fun bit."
Asked how it will feel when he does that for real, Chiesa replied: "I will have shivers and it will be so emotional for me and for my family."
Chiesa came up through the youth ranks at Fiorentina where his father Enrico played at the turn of the millennium.
The younger Chiesa made 153 appearances for the Florence side before joining arch-rivals Juventus on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
He scored eight goals and four assists in 30 Serie A games in his first season in Turin before playing a starring role as Italy beat England on penalties to win the delayed European Championships in 2021.
However, over the next two seasons for Juventus he made just 35 league appearances in total as a devastating ACL injury kept him out for seven months.
In his final season at Juventus, Chiesa showed more signs of a return to form with nine goals and four assists in 33 games.
He can play on the left or the right flank and has also shown himself capable of playing as a No. 10 or even as a striker at times during his time in Italy.
