Manchester United may face competition to sign Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the season and could also move for Sporting CP youngster Geovany Quenda in January under new manager Ruben Amorim. Elsewhere, Neymar has been linked with an exit from Al-Hilal to join former side Santos in Brazil, and Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis could give Edu an expansive new job.

United linked with Gyokeres move
The Sun reports that Sporting CP have a gentleman’s agreement with striker Viktor Gyokeres to let him go for less than his release clause.
That means Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal could all be in line to make a move next year.
The Sun writes: “Viktor Gyokeres could be up for grabs for around £63 million in the summer - putting Manchester United on red alert.
“Sporting Lisbon’s Swedish forward enhanced his reputation with a hat-trick against City on Tuesday night.
“He has a release clause in his deal at the José Alvalade Stadium which is set at around £84m and expires in 2028.
“However the former Coventry man is believed to have a gentleman’s agreement with the Portuguese club that will allow him to go for much less if he sees the season out with them.
“Sporting would look for around £67m but could accept as little as £63m.
“And that is likely to interest a host of Prem giants - including United, Arsenal and Chelsea.”
United may move for Quenda
The Mirror believes that with Viktor Gyokeres likely to stay in Portugal for the rest of the season, Manchester United might go for another of Ruben Amorim’s former players.
That could be 17-year-old Geovany Quenda, who has impressed this season, and who operates on the wing.
The paper explains: “Manchester United are reportedly lining up Sporting Lisbon starlet Geovany Quenda after learning they won't able to sign his team-mate Viktor Gyokeres until next summer.
“Ruben Amorim is preparing to leave Sporting for Old Trafford next week and is being linked with a handful of the club's top players - with Gyokeres strongly tipped to join him in Manchester after starring in the 4-1 win against Manchester City.
“The Swedish star netted a hat-trick against Pep Guardiola's side to leave fans blown away, though Amorim has already insisted he will not be able to raid the Portuguese giants for any players this January.
“Gyokeres is understood to have a release clause of £83 million and will likely not leave until next summer, so United are now turning their attentions to 17-year-old winger Quenda, who started against City.”
Neymar could move this January
After suffering another injury problem for Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal, the Daily Mail suggests Neymar could soon be let go.
The Brazilian is struggling after recovering from an ACL injury, and could have his contract cancelled.
The paper writes: “The 32-year-old returned for Al-Hilal last month following a year-long absence, after tearing his ACL in his left knee while playing for Brazil last October.
“Neymar suffered a setback to his comeback on Monday having been forced off 29 minutes after coming on as a substitute in Al-Hilal's Asian Champions League win over Esteghlal.
“Al-Hilal are now considering cutting ties with the superstar in January.
“A termination of his contract would offer Neymar the opportunity to return to Brazil, where he has been linked with rejoining Santos, where he made his breakthrough.”
Edu set for broad new role
The Athletic believes that Arsenal’s former technical director Edu could be in line for an expanded role under Evangelos Marinakis.
The Nottingham Forest owner may give Edu the chance to oversee a growing portfolio of clubs.
The website states: “It is not just Forest. It is anticipated Edu’s role will see him take a senior role within the Marinakis football empire, rather than at the City Ground specifically - but landing somebody who has made the kind of impact he has at Arsenal is still a coup.
“It was a big surprise in the capital when Edu announced he was set to depart the Emirates Stadium but at Forest - and Olympiacos and Rio Ave - the direction of travel will be seen as a positive step.
“There is also the possibility that Marinakis adds to his footballing portfolio in the future; the Greek shipping magnate is understood to be enthusiastic about the idea of potentially taking control of another team somewhere.
“While it is currently unclear precisely what Edu’s position will be, his role is expected to involve a level of influence in those plans to expand the empire further. He would be a key figure, if and when any such opportunities arise.”
