Man Utd bid to sign Tel hits impasse

Mathys Tel's proposed move to Manchester United has collapsed, with Arsenal ready to pounce to sign the Bayern Munich teenager.
The Mail reports discussions between the clubs hit an "impasse" on Sunday.
Tel has reportedly turned down a move to Tottenham, while Arsenal have also been linked.
"Manchester United's bid to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich is at a standstill after discussions hit an impasse Sunday," writes the outlet.
"Arsenal remain in the background to sign the France international who had rejected Tottenham on Friday.
"United were given encouragement that the 19-year old wanted to join them but they have been unable to find a solution with Bayern over a loan deal and payment terms and a resolution is now considered 'unlikely'."

Nkunku also on Man Utd's radar

The Manchester Evening News claims Ruben Amorim's side could instead make a move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku on Monday.
"Manchester United will try to sign a forward on deadline day. Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea are top of the shortlist," writes the outlet.
"United have been linked with a move for Leon Bailey but are instead focusing on attackers who can play through the middle, with Tel and Nkunku the two players set to be considered ahead of Monday's 11pm deadline.
"Nkunku is the other player currently being considered by the Old Trafford hierarchy. The 27-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge on loan having struggled for minutes in the Premier League this season."

Palace eyeing Chilwell and Pavlovic

Crystal Palace are planning an ambitious double defensive signing on deadline day.
The Eagles want to bring Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell and AC Milan's centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic to Selhurst Park, claims The Sun.
"Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner wants to sign AC Milan centre-half Strahinja Pavlovic in a £25 million deadline deal," reads the article.
"Glasner is a huge fan of the powerful Serb - who is a regular in Milan’s Serie A and Champions League campaigns - so it is an ambitious target.
"Pavlovic, 23, joined from RB Salzburg last summer but Glasner wants competition at the back and also has one eye on a long-term replacement for Marc Guehi.
"Eagles are also keen on Ben Chilwell, 28, at Chelsea but his £185k-a-week wages would be a concern."
