Chelsea target Brentford striker Igor Thiago, Manchester United want Donyell Malen - Paper Round

Chelsea are one of at least four clubs who are interested in signing Igor Thiago from Brentford this summer.

The striker, valued at approximately £80 million, is also a target for Juventus, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

The paper writes: ”Chelsea are interested in signing Brentford star Igor Thiago.

”And Chelsea are reportedly set to battle it out with three other European clubs to bring the striker to their side of West London.

”Champions League semi-finalists Atletico Madrid, Serie A giants Juventus and seven-time European Champions AC Milan have all made enquiries for Thiago according to reports.

”Brentford are set to demand a fee of around £80 million to part ways with their star man.”

Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all tracking Aston Villa forward Donyell Malen ahead of his permanent move to Roma.

The Italians are set to make his loan deal from Aston Villa permanent, but the three English sides may need to pay more than £43.2 million to tempt Roma to sell.

The Mirror explains: ”Manchester United are one of three Premier League sides linked with a transfer move for Donyell Malen. The 27-year-old joined AS Roma on loan from Aston Villa in January and has made a superb impact in Italy with 11 goals in 14 appearances.

”The Serie A outfit have an option to purchase him for between €25 million (£21.6m) and €30 million (£25.9m) which is anticipated to be triggered. Despite this, United, Chelsea and Newcastle United are 'the big clubs watching' and weighing up a move, according to a Corriere dello Sport report.

”They have suggested that the consensus is that he is already valued at twice the minimum fee Roma could pay. However, there is no intention to sell from their viewpoint with their owners, the Friedkins, due in the city this week to authorise the transfer.”

Reports in Colombia suggest that Benfica midfielder, Richard Rios, is a target for Manchester United.

Napoli are also said to be keen, and the 26-year-old has a release clause of £86 million, reports the Daily Star.

The paper states: ”United's ambition to overhaul their midfield this summer could lead to the signing of Benfica star Richard Rios.

”The Colombia international only moved to the Portuguese outfit last summer, for a reported fee of £24 million.

”However, his outstanding displays have seen the 26-year-old attract attention from numerous clubs, including United, according to Colombian press.

”O Jogo reports Rios is a primary target for Napoli and it is claimed the club's sporting director Giovanni Manna has already started approaching the player. It's suggested the ball-winning midfielder has an £86m release clause.”

The Express believes Liverpool could consider a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Julian Brandt.

The 30-year-old winger was previously a target before Mohamed Salah was signed, and can move for free this summer.

The Daily Express reports: ”Liverpool may be able to replace Mohamed Salah without paying a penny in transfer fees when the summer window opens for business.

”Salah's impending exit will leave a gaping hole in Liverpool's squad and it will be crucial to replace him properly ahead of next season. They have already been linked with a number of big-name players who they would need to break the bank to sign. Yan Diomande, for example, is thought to be valued at around £87million by RB Leipzig.

”However, the free agents market could provide Liverpool with an opportunity to replace Salah with a player they very nearly signed instead of the Egyptian maestro.

”Jurgen Klopp preferred the idea of bringing in Julian Brandt, but the club's scouting department were convinced that Salah was the better option.

”Liverpool won't have to wait until the season ends to snap him up, either. Brandt has been free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with non-German clubs since January.”
