Upamecano to stay at Bayern
Dayot Upamecano has agreed a new deal that will see him remain with German giants Bayern Munich until 2030, according to reports.
The France defender’s contract was set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs rumoured to be interested in acquiring his services.
Upamecano has played a key role in an impressive start to the season for Vincent Kompany’s side, helping them go six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and finish second in the UEFA Champions League league phase table.
Fabrizio Romano says clubs that were interested in signing Upamecano have been made aware of his new Bayern deal.
"Dayot Upamecano approves new deal at Bayern, clubs interested are informed," he posted on X.
"He’s set to sign new contract soon at FC Bayern, happy to stay as huge boost for the club after big efforts from club and player side to make it happen. It will be valid until 2030."

Sterling offered to Union Berlin
Raheem Sterling was offered to German club Union Berlin as the January transfer window drew to a close, according to the club’s managing director Horst Heldt.
However, Heldt insists that the club did not pursue a deal to sign the former Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool star.
Sterling has not played a professional match since the final day of the 2024/25 campaign, when he was on loan at Arsenal from Chelsea. He left The Blues as a free agent in January.
Heldt says the offer to sign Sterling made him rub his eyes in disbelief.
"In every transfer window, you're confronted with names that make you rub your eyes in disbelief," he told Sky Sports Germany.
"In this case, it simply wasn't a reputable offer and we didn't pursue it."
Why Kante move fell through
Florian Plettenberg has claimed that N’Golo Kante’s move to Fenerbahce fell through because his current club Al Ittihad entered the relevant TMS [FIFA's Transfer Matching System] data incorrectly.
Kante looked set to return to Europe having joined the Saudi club from Premier League giants Chelsea during the summer of 2023.
Plettenberg says that Kante had completed a medical but has now been left disappointed.
"The medical was completed and the documents were uploaded within the deadline," he wrote on X.
"However, due to the incorrect entry of the relevant TMS data by Al Ittihad, as explained by Fenerbahce, the deal for Kante (and Youssef En-Nesyri) collapsed.
"Kante disappointed as he was ready to depart."
