England international Marc Guehi, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and in-form Harry Wilson are among the star names who will be out of contract in the summer. Clubs may be tempted to cash in during the winter transfer window, in order to avoid losing their talent for nothing. Here are some of the big name players who could be on the move and where they might end up by the end of January.

As well as January being a time for heavyweight names to be linked with mid-season moves to rescue a club from crippling form or propel them in their push for silverware, it is also a period when shrewd business can be done.
The winter window of 2026 coincides with a number of big-name players across Europe entering the final six months of their current contracts.
From an England international defender to a six-time Premier League title-winning playmaking wizard, there are some big names who could be available at a cut price over the next month.
We have been taking a look at the players who could prove to be a bargain buy in this window.
Dayot Upamecano
Ok, this one would seemingly be less of a bargain.
France international Dayot Upamecano has been attracting interest from clubs including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea, with his contract winding down at Bayern Munich.
The German champions had been expecting the defender to sign a new deal in Bavaria, but that is yet to materialise.
However, financial demands could prove to be Upamecano’s downfall when trying to negotiate his next move - with The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana reporting his needs are "excessive by Real Madrid’s standards".
There are reports that Upamecano wants a package worth between ÂŁ14 million and ÂŁ17m per season.

Marc Guehi
He was one of the most talked-about players during the summer transfer window, and now Marc Guehi is also expected to have his name in the headlines throughout January.
The Crystal Palace captain was so close to completing a deadline day move to Liverpool, only for the transfer to fall through due to Palace being unable to find an adequate replacement in time.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner wants to keep Guehi at Selhurst Park, but the England international can leave for free in the summer if they do not cash in over the next month.
Liverpool remain interested, with Manchester City and Chelsea also linked with his services. Guehi also has suitors abroad and he could sign a pre-contract this month if interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Inter Milan takes his fancy.

Ibrahima Konate
Although his performances this season have not reached the standards he has set for himself during his four-and-a-half years at Anfield, losing Ibrahima Konate on a free in the summer would not be ideal for Premier League champions Liverpool.
Negotiations continue over a new contract for the Frenchman, with an agreement failing to be reached so far.
Konate has been linked with a number of European giants, among them Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Dusan Vlahovic
Many clubs are keeping an eye on Dusan Vlahovic, whose current Juventus deal comes to an end in the summer.
Barcelona have reportedly made an early approach, with their talismanic striker Robert Lewandowski is also out of contract at the end of the season.
Lewandowski's wage demands could prove too high for an extension, which would leave Barca needing a replacement and Vlahovic is a perfect target with the arrival of Jonathan David and Lois Openda taking him out of the limelight at Juve.
Vlahovic’s name has also been mumbled in Liverpool quarters after Alexander Isak needed surgery on a fibula fracture.

Bernardo Silva
Pep Guardiola has admitted to Bernardo Silva being his "favourite" player at Manchester City - but their trophy-laden time together at the Etihad Stadium could be over soon.
The Portuguese playmaker joined City in 2017 and has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the UEFA Champions League during his time at the club. But his contract is close to expiring.
With City apparently leading the race to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, there could be little need to keep Silva at the club.
Mike Maignan
Long-time Chelsea target Mike Maignan has been in hard-fought contract negotiations with AC Milan for some time.
Reports suggest that the goalkeeper has been offered an improved deal worth around ÂŁ6m per season - which is still short of his demand of ÂŁ6.5m per season.
Chelsea cooled their interest in Maignan in the summer due to Milan’s financial demands, but they could be ready to pounce with the ink yet to fall on a new deal in Italy.

Harry Wilson
Fulham’s Harry Wilson has been one of the unexpected stand-out performers in the Premier League so far this season.
He has been imperative to everything good about Marco Silva’s side - yet the club is yet to tie him down to a new deal.
Asked recently if Wilson could get snapped up in January, Silva said: "I don't have any doubt right now if you ask me that Harry Wilson is going to be with us until the end of the season, at least, let's hope for more."

Yves Bissouma
Through unfortunate injury problems and self-inflicted behavioural issues, Yves Bissouma has not had the best of times at Tottenham Hotspur.
He came close to joining Fenerbahce in the summer, only for an injury to prevent that move.
There is expected to be interest for Bissouma in January but, if Spurs fail to sell him, they could activate a clause in his contract which gives him a deal for a further year.
This would then give the club more time to sell the player, instead of losing him for nothing.
