The website reports: "Arsenal are in the process of completing a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres after taking final steps in negotiations with Sporting CP for the striker.
"Talks have been prolonged by Sporting president Frederico Varandas refusing to accept what Gyokeres believes was an agreement to leave this summer for €60 million plus €10m of add-ons.
"That amount is exceeded by Arsenal’s proposals and they have now made formal advances over terms of the switch in a bid to close the proposed transfer.
"Gyokeres has not returned to pre-season training with Sporting amid his desire to join the Premier League club and a five-year contract is lined up."
McAtee set for Eintracht Frankfurt
Manchester City’s 22-year-old midfielder James McAtee is reportedly getting closer to a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Daily Record relays reports in Germany which suggest he is heading over to continue talks about a transfer.
The paper states: "Manchester City winger James McAtee will reportedly travel to Germany to continue talks over a potential move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
"The England U21 international scored seven goals for the Etihad giants last season but Sky Germany report that a move to 2022 Europa League winners Frankfurt could be on the cards, although a deal has yet to be agreed."
Man Utd may have to subsidise exits
Manchester United are facing taking a hit on the departures of at least three of their players.
Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are all contracted to 2028, meaning they may need to receive payoffs before they can move elsewhere.
The Telegraph explains: "Manchester United face the prospect of paying players millions to leave Old Trafford this summer, with buying clubs ready to exploit the need to offload players before the start of the Premier League season.
"Alejandro Garnacho was the latest United player to make his feelings clear on his future at the club when he was pictured this week in the shirt of Marcus Rashford, who was frozen out by Ruben Amorim last season and loaned to Aston Villa.
"Garnacho, Rashford and Brazil forward Antony have contracts until 2028, which United are now expected to subsidise even if they leave the club and are playing for a rival. Jadon Sancho will also be allowed to leave after loans in the last two campaigns."
Man Utd to miss out on Vlahovic
Manchester United are set to miss out on Dusan Vlahovic, according to The Sun.
The Serbia international has often been linked with a move to United, but AC Milan are leading the chase for the Juventus man.
The paper writes: "Manchester United’s hunt for a bargain striker has hit a significant setback with Dusan Vlahovic set to snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of joining AC Milan.
"The Serbian forward has been a long-term target for The Red Devils, who have been desperately searching for an affordable option to bolster their front line.
"United have already strengthened their squad with the announcement of Matheus Cunha’s £62.5 million move.
"Now, they are looking for an established name who could come in and add both experience and hunger without breaking the bank.
"But Sunsport understands that the Serbian forward favours a move to AC Milan, if he agrees a deal with Juventus to go their separate ways this summer."
