Leeds still want Strand Larsen
The i Paper reports that Leeds United are still hoping to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves are holding out for a fee of £40 million to let the Norwegian international leave in the middle of a relegation battle.
The i Paper writes: "Leeds United are still in the hunt to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen this month, but they will have to be creative with the deal due to the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.
"Daniel Farke’s side are looking for another forward to provide cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin this week, but funds are severely restricted. They are actively pursuing Strand Larsen, and have had one bid, thought to have been for about £36m, rejected already by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
"The i Paper understands that Leeds remain at the table to sign the 25-year-old despite that bid falling short, with the player very keen to seal a switch to West Yorkshire. Strand Larsen’s former Premier League playing agent, Tore Pedersen is, in fact, a season ticket-holder at Elland Road.
"Wolves are looking for closer to £40m for the Norwegian, but they do need to sell now as their bargaining position will not be as strong in the summer, when they are almost certainly going to be a Championship club again."
Pepi turns down West Ham
PSV Eindhoven’s American striker Ricardo Pepi is hoping to land a late move to Fulham in the coming days.
The 23-year-old has rejected both West Ham and an offer from Germany in order to give the West Londoners more time.
The Sun explains: "Ricardo Pepi has turned down a move to West Ham and is waiting for Fulham to meet PSV’s asking price with a third bid.
"The Hammers made a late-window approach for the American striker but were promptly knocked back.
"Advances from a high-flying German team were also refused as Fulham continue their push for the 23-year-old.
"SunSport understands that the Cottagers are less than £1 million away from meeting PSV‘s valuation.
"Fulham offered a £29.5m package as part of their second proposal, but PSV are holding out for £30.4m [€35m]."
Fulham close in on Bobb
While Fulham are yet to strike a deal for Pepi, one player they are almost certain to sign is Oscar Bobb.
The 22-year-old winger is due to have a medical with the club on Thursday after Manchester City accepted an offer worth an initial £27 million.
The Athletic states: Fulham have reached an agreement with Manchester City over a deal to sign winger Oscar Bobb.
"The deal will be worth £27 million ($37.1m) and include a 20% sell on clause for City, in addition to the club holding the right to match any bid made for the winger in the future.
"The 22-year-old is expected to undergo his Fulham medical on Thursday before completing his move to Craven Cottage.
"Bobb is currently out with what Pep Guardiola said was a hamstring injury that he picked up in City’s 2-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Brentford on December 17."
Rangers set to keep Chermiti
Rangers bought Youssef Chermiti from Everton in the summer transfer window, but there has been talk of a move to Fenerbahce.
However, reports in Turkey have played down the chances of any move going through this winter.
The Daily Mail reports: "Reports from Turkey have denied that Fenerbahce had a £13 million bid rejected by Rangers for Youssef Chermiti last week.
"The Portuguese youngster joined Rangers for £8 million-plus add-ons from Everton in the summer and he has only scored four goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
"News of the offer from Turkey had surprised fans when the story broke on Tuesday night.
"Now, however, it would appear that Fenerbahce are looking to distance themselves from a potential transfer for the 21-year-old."
