UEFA Conference League draw: Crystal Palace, Hibernian and Dundee United learn potential play-off opponents

The draw for the UEFA Conference League play-off round has been made, with several British teams looking to advance to the competition's league phase. European newcomers Palace are among them, and they will face Scandinavian opposition in their qualifier. Hibernian and Dundee United will also hope to progress to the league stage, while Aberdeen learned their UEFA Europa League play-off opponent.

Crystal Palace will play either Fredrikstad of Norway or FC Midtjylland of Denmark in their UEFA Conference League play-off tie.
Victory for FA Cup winners Palace will see them reach the league phase of the Conference League.
The first leg will be played at Selhurst Park on August 21, with the return leg in Scandinavia a week later.
Palace will play the loser of the UEFA Europa League qualifier between Fredrikstad and Midtjylland.
The Eagles may yet find themselves in the UEFA Europa League if their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport is successful.
As things stand, they will compete for a place in the Conference League league phase, where they could be joined by two Scottish clubs.

Hibernian, if they beat Partizan Belgrade in their third-round qualifier, will meet AEK Larnaca of Cyprus or Polish outfit Legia Warsaw.
Dundee United, meanwhile, will face AIK Stockholm of Sweden or FC Gyor of Hungary if they get past Rapid Vienna in the third qualifying round.
Larne of Northern Ireland are looking to qualify for the Conference League league phase for the second season running, and they could face Irish side Shamrock Rovers or Ballkani of Kosovo.

To set up a potential Northern Ireland v Republic of Ireland clash, Larne must first beat Portuguese side Santa Clara.
And there could be an equally interesting fixture between Northern Irish champions Linfield and the Republic of Ireland's Shelbourne. Linfield face Vikingur in their third qualifying round tie, and the winner will meet the loser of the Europa League qualifier between Croatian side HNK Rijeka and Shelbourne.
In the Europa League, Aberdeen will face either FCSB - formerly Steaua Bucharest - or Kosovo side Drita in the final round of qualifying.
