England will finish their UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign against Portugal at Wembley on Friday, May 30 before playing Spain in Barcelona on Tuesday, June 3. Lionesses manager Sarina Wiegman has named her squad for the matches and it includes Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp. Arsenal’s Michelle Agyemang retains her place and Tottenham’s Ella Morris gets a first senior call-up.

Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp have been named in England’s squad for their final UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage matches against Portugal and Spain.

The Lionesses are second in League A Group 3, two points behind leaders Spain, with the group winners securing a place in the knockout phase in October.

Before that comes Euro 2025, where England will be defending champions.

The returns of Greenwood, Stanway and Hemp following knee surgeries is a welcome boost for England manager Sarina Wiegman ahead of the tournament.

Arsenal’s Michelle Agyemang retains her place in the squad after scoring on her debut against Belgium in April, and there is a recall for Aston Villa’s Missy Bo Kearns.

Tottenham’s Ella Morris has been handed her first senior call-up but Chelsea’s Lauren James misses out with injury.

"These are another two important games for us in a big year," said Wiegman.

"Naturally we are preparing for the summer ahead. We saw in February that both Portugal and Spain will provide a big challenge and that excites us. These are the levels we need to compete against to make sure we are the best possible version of ourselves on July 5 when our Euro begins.

"At the same time, it is important that we focus first on what is right in front of us and ending the Nations League campaign in the best possible way.

"We have reflected upon two different performances against Belgium in April and although there were positives to take, there is more we want and need to improve on."

England have two wins, a draw, and a defeat from their four Nations League group matches.

They host Portugal at Wembley on Friday, May 30 before playing Spain in Barcelona on Tuesday, June 3.

In the reverse fixtures England drew with Portugal and beat world champions Spain 1-0.

Following this window England have just one more game - against Jamaica on Sunday, June 29 - before their Euro 2025 opener against France on July 5.

"We have the possibility of seeing 27 players in our environment and that’s a real positive," said Wiegman.

"It will give us more good information to make important decisions in the near future. Also naming the squad 12 days before the window begins gives all the players clarity as the season ends for some and carries on for others.

"The hard work continues from the moment we arrive at St. George’s Park on Monday, May 26."
