Team GB's chef de Mission Eve Muirhead insists she could not be prouder of the nation's athletes after they produced a record-breaking medal haul at the 2026 Winter Olympics at Milano Cortina.
Team GB made history this month as they secured five medals, matching their best tally from Sochi in 2014 and Pyeongchang in 2018.
However, three of those medals have been gold, bringing the wait for more than one first-place finish at a Games to an end and proving British athletes can compete for the top prize in a variety of different events.
Muirhead believes that the 2026 Winter Olympics have been special for Team GB.
"I’m very proud, and I can officially say that this has been our most successful Winter Olympics ever," she said.
"So that is something really special, but it is down to the athletes.

"Honestly, they have been incredible; they have been a fantastic team out here.  We have been cheering each other on.
"We had one goal, and that was to make sure that the athletes felt comfortable, able to perform in this environment, and that is exactly what they did.
"I could not be more proud of every single one of them."
Team GB secured one bronze, one silver and three gold medals during a thrilling few weeks of action.
Zoe Atkin claimed Team GB’s bronze in the halfpipe on Sunday, following in the footsteps of her sister Izzy, who won a bronze medal in PyeongChang eight years ago.
The men’s curling team brought home the silver after falling to a 9-6 defeat against Canada in the gold medal match.
Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes won the mixed team snowboard cross, and Muirhead saved a special mention for Matt Weston.

He became the first Brit to win two gold medals at a Winter Olympic Games, coming out on top alongside Tabitha Stoecker in the mixed team skeleton after storming to victory in the men’s event.
"It is a hard one, but I don’t think we can look past Matt Weston," she said after being asked to pick a standout moment from the Games.
"He is the most decorated male Winter Olympian of all time now.
"He is just one of the good guys, he is down to earth and a really nice guy. I hope he has inspired himself because I know he has inspired the whole nation.
"Hopefully, now we will see more young people who want to take up these unique winter sports."
Team GB have always been a force in the skeleton, but the variety of medals also filled Muirhead with pride.
She believes that Team GB have proven that they can compete across the board moving forward.

"We made history on snow," she added. "It is the first time that we have ever brought back a gold medal.
"We have only had as much as a bronze medal in the past. We just had our first-ever halfpipe medal from Zoe Atkin as well.
"So it has been an incredible performance on the snow and I guess we have to mention the handful of fourth places as well.
"You are so close to getting on that podium, but you’re not on it, and that is tough for the athletes.
"I think what we have shown is that we are capable, we have shown that we are a team that are fighting [for medals]."
