Hatton and Vincent share overnight lead
Tyrrell Hatton and Scott Vincent both hit four-under par in tough conditions at Valderrama to share the lead going into Day 2.
Hatton found his game straight away with the Englishman birdieing his first two holes. A bogey briefly checked his momentum, but three more birdies in the middle of his round helped him to an impressive 67.
Vincent played a near-flawless round and when he did find trouble with a wild tee shot on the second, he made a fine recovery shot through a tree and holed a 15-footer to complete the recovery for par.
Elsewhere, 2024 winner Sergio Garcia was in contention all day and will be happy sitting two shots back from the leaders, alongside compatriot David Puig. Things were not as rosy for Jon Rahm who finished on two-over par.
Bryson DeChambeau had a mixed round, providing the moment of the day holing a 60-foot putt on the 15th, but then missed the chance to move alongside Garcia and co by missing a short putt on the 18th.
The action continues on Friday with coverage beginning on HBO Max from 11:30 UK time.

Bryson misses birdie putt on last
A putt of no more than four feet, he will be furious not to have put that away and left himself in join fourth.
Hatton makes par to share overnight lead
He rolls in a five-footer to finish with a five on the 17th and keep his lead alongside Vincent.

It will be a tough up and down for birdie from there.
Hatton with opportunity ending on par five
Most are in the clubhouse, but Hatton still has to play the 17th and he finished just short of a bunker with his tee shot.
Vincent so close to chipping in on third
That would have given him the sole lead. A very good 67 in tough conditions today.
Detry finishes in third place
And unless one of the leaders bogeys he will stay there alone overnight after his 15-footer on the first, his last.
Sergio misses 12-footer on last
But he will be pretty happy with his two-under par 69.
Herculean effort to keep lead from Vincent
He deserves to finish the round in front and looks like doing so after, hitting an escape through the V in tree and just sneaking into the green-side bunker, before slotting a 15-foot putt home for a four on the second.
Sergio back to two-under
He is on the par-five 17th in two and rolls an eagle putt within three feet and he pops it home.
Bryson holes a monster!
Faced with a fully 50-foot putt he rolls the ball across the 15th green to go back to one-under.

Sergio drops shot at 15th
He was short and left on the par three and could not stop the ball racing past the hoel, leaving him a very tricky putt from the fringe he did not come close to sinking. He drops to one-under.
Hatton joins Vincent in lead
A four on the par-five 11th draws him level with Vincent.
Bryson misses par putt
Not second for long! He was only just on the 12th green, a metre in from where Vincent holed out, but the American rolled his 15-footer just past the hole.
Bryson replacing club
He damaged his 60-degree club and because it was unintentional and not broken in anger, he can get a replacement. He is also now in joint third after Puig bogeyed the 14th.
Bryson up to two-under
But it is tinged with disappointment as his ten-foot eagle putt on the 11th lipped out to the right.
Vincent chips in from edge of green
He moves back into a sole lead at four-under after 12 holes.
Some sunshine for Rahm
It hasn't been the best round but he was happy with this.
Hatton joins Vincent on three-under
He slots a short putt on the ninth to move into the lead alongside Vincent. Puig joins them on three-under at the halfway point.
Brilliant tee shot sets Vincent up for lead
He left himself an eight-footer to take the sole lead on the 12th and he rolled home to go to three-under.
Hatton joins leaders
The 20-footer raced across the lightning seventh green but found a home in the hole.
Lee and Vincent join Mun in lead
We have a three-way tie for the lead now.

Bogeys for Garcia and DeChambeau
The Spaniard was on target with a 20-footer but it lipped out and he missed the six-footer coming back. DeChambeau had a tough 15-footer for par which he pushed wide.

Mun with second bogey but still holds lead
Consecutive bogeys for the Korean on the 12th and 13th. He is on two-under and the lead is now one.
Another bogey for Rahm
A five on the fifth puts him three-over.
Scoring has slowed...
A bogey means Mun is back on three-under, but he is still two strokes clear of 16 players on one-under.
Garcia now under par
He rolls home a 15-footer for a three on the fifth to move to one-under.
Mun on fire!
An eagle on the 11th puts him four-under after four holes and two shots clear.
Rahm two over after three
The ball bounced out from a short putt. Far from the start he wanted.
Garcia birdies the third
That brings him back to level par after he bogeyed the first.
Mun and Oosthuizen also on two under
Koran Do-Yeob Mun and Louis Oosthuizen have also birdied their first two holes.
Two from two for Puig
What a start from the home favourite.He makes a two on the par-three third.
Bryson birdies the first
He hasn't always made great starts this year but he slotted an eight foot putt for a three at the first. Playing partner Rahm made a par four.
Early Spanish birdie
David Puig chips in for a three on the second hole, while Dean Burmester also had an early birdie.
