UFC London recap - Movsar Evloev edges Lerone Murphy in main event as Luke Riley takes co-main event and Michael Page wins

Manchester's Lerone Murphy missed out on the chance to set up a shot at the UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski as he lost a majority decision to Movsar Evloev, while Luke Riley defeated Michael Aswell Jr on points in the co-main event in London and Michael Page triumphed against Sam Patterson.

Murphy title dreams shatter

Manchester's Lerone Murphy missed out on the chance to line up a shot at the UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski as he lost a majority decision to Movsar Evloev in the main event of UFC London 2026.

Evloev was awarded the decision 48-46 on two judges' scorecards, with the other scoring it 47-47.

A quiet first couple of rounds could have gone either way before Evloev's takedowns and overhand rights, which opened damage on Murphy's left eye, tilted the fight in his favour in the third.

A big fourth round for the Russian was nullified by a second low blow which left Murphy on his knees needing 90 seconds to recover and saw Evloev have a point deducted.

The fifth was fairly even for much of the rounds, but Evloev's takedowns in the final couple of moment saw him, crucially, take the last and the fight.

The co-main event saw Luke Riley defeat Michael Aswell Jr on points and though the Liverpool fighter took the fight 30-27 on all three cards, he was personally unimpressed giving himself five out of ten for the performance.

Michael 'Venom' Page was also not too pleased despite victory over Sam Patterson (30-27, 29-28 twice), after a bout with little action and boos from the crowd.

The fight of the night came in the final prelim where Welshman Mason Jones defeated Axel Sola of France in a brutal contest. Jones won 30-27 and 29-28 twice.

Murphy said: "My hip popped. No excuses. I'll be back better. Make sure he gets a title shot."

Evloev wins majority decision

Evloev is awarded the fight 48-46 (twice) with the third a 47-47 draw.

Evloev-Murphy: Round 5

Murphy stays game but the fight seems to have inexorably swung to the Russian. He takes down Mufphy again on the minute mark. Evloev takes Murphy's back but the Mancunian gets back to his feet on two occasions. Back to their feet with his eye bloody, Murphy then lands another couple of good one-twos, but after the Brit misses with a spinning punch, Evloev takes him down again and lands some ground and pound on the floor.

Evloev-Murphy: Round 4

Murphy is again caught low and this time more flush, leaving him on his knees gasping for recovery. Evloev is deducted a point. The fight resumes after 90 seconds. Murphy was caught with a right hand as he looked to kick and looked vulnerable as Evloev piled on the pressure after. Evloev then takes Murphy down a couple of times. Murphy also falls after missing a kick allowing Evloev to land shots on him on the floor.

Evloev-Murphy: Round 3

Evloev takes down Murphy and gets his back. Murphy manages to avoid getting caught in a hold though. Evloev lands a good shot soon afterwards but also kicks south of the border and Murphy takes thirty seconds to recover. The strike count is so close, Murphy lands the better kicks with Evloev the better shots. In the closing moments Evloev's right hand looks like the first one to hurt the opponent and Murphy's corner give his left eye some treatment after the buzzer.

MVP on fans boos

Michael 'Venom' Page won a unanimous decision in a pretty dull bout with Sam Patterson, a fight where their styles did not mesh. In his press conference, Page said he understood why the crowd were not happy.

Page: Obviously you hear the crowds and stuff.
I see it as they have an expectation of me in the same way I have, in fact more, of myself, when I'm not delivering out there.
In a frustrating fight, I understand why the boos are there.
It doesn't change anything for me.
I'm too experienced to be swayed by the crowd, but like I said, I expect a lot from myself, frustrated, disappointed in that performance, obviously happy with the win, but I always wanna do more.

Evloev-Murphy: Round 2

Murphy landed a good shot which saw Evloev slip but he was soon back to his feet. When they get close Murphy has landed good body shots and low kicks. There has been little to get excited about so far for the fans, though they have been polite enough not to boo. At the end of the round both trade blows for the first time.

Evloev-Murphy: Round 1

There is little in the opener as both are very disciplined and elected to trade onto heir feet but mostly making sure they do not give the other an opening. Murphy led on the strike count though it was Evloev who landed with the better shots, but nothing clean or that rocked Murphy.

Riley wins on points

He takes the fight 30-27 on all three judges scorecards. That doesn't quite feel a reflection of the fight. But you could easily give him all three rounds.

Riley-Aswell: Round 3

The third sees Aswell holding Riley against the Octagon for spells, trying in vain to get a takedown. It is working to take Riley off his game though and he struggles to land as many shots with Aswell getting some of his own off. In the final minute, Riley lands a fine body shot and a couple of hooks but is caught himself with a right coming in. A very good fight.

Riley-Aswell: Round 2

Riley gets the better of the early strikes but then as Aswell lands he slips and the American takes advantage to land more in close. Overall, it is Riley who produces the more accurate and harder strikes, which vastly reduces Aswell's workrate. Aswell shows a great chin to withstand three or four straight rights which land right on the button. The American lands a couple of nice strikes and kicks in the closing seconds, before taking another right hand himself.

Riley-Aswell: Round 1

Aswell comes flying out of his corner, smartly trying to crowd Riley. And it is the American who has the better early, landing uppercuts and body shots while holding Riley against the Octagon. Midway through the round, Riley landed a couple of his trademark hooks, but Aswell landed a one-two himself forcing his opponent to the Octagon. A right to the body seemed to deter Aswell a bit and from this point onward the round was more even. A right hand from Riley then sees Aswell rock backwards. Another right and left hook land at the end of the round. A very good last minute, but is that enough to take the round?

Page-Patterson: Round 3

Patterson vows in the corner to take the fight to Page and he does just that. He fails to land and is caught by a good counter and a leg kick. Patterson then tries to take Page down but MVP's defence is sound. The referee gives a warning over the lack of action and splits them after an elongated clinch. Page lands the better shots in the closing stages and has done through the fight mostly but will the judges pay that or Patterson's aggression. Boos ring around at the end of the fight.

Page-Patterson: Round 2

Each land with a couple of good strikes but still not too much action. They might just be a poor match-up, with each being such good defensive fighters standing up. Page landed a good shot with 20 seconds to go as they clinch for the last few seconds and the crowd boos.

Page-Patterson: Round 1

Page looks to take the fight early to Patterson who circles around him. It is very cagey for the first two minutes as both look to expose counters to shots which don't come. In all just eight shots landed in the round. The crowd boo at its conclusion.

The always entertaining Michael 'Venom' Page (24-3) is up next. He wasn't happy at not getting the main event slot, so expect him to put on a show - back at welterweight - against fellow Englishman Sam Patterson (14-2-1).

Jones wants a house!

It will take something dramatic not to give Mason Jones and Axel Sola the fight of the night and the victorious Welshman says he wants to use the winnings, should he win, to buy a house.

Jones: I've proved time and time again I deserve bonuses every time.
My debut against Jeremy Stephens - the reason they didn't give me a bonus was because the third round I wrestled and that was because he chewed my leg up.
My second fight against Oki Bolaji, I chewed him up and I got a bonus.
My third fight against Axel Soa, I went to war with him.
I proved I can hang in there for three fights, dominant from the start and I deserve a bonus for that.
So give me my bonus, let me buy a house, my partner wants a house. They’ve been saying for years, let me get my house!

Gone in 30 seconds!

Baraniewski landed a right hook, followed it with a brutal left uppercut and from that point onwards it was a matter of time. Lake went down and Baranieweksi kept pounding until the referee pulled him off.

Duncan wins unanimous decision!

Duncan wins 29-28 on all three cards. Dolidze looks annoyed but he can have little complaints.

Dolidze-Duncan: Round 3

Duncan is outclassing Dolidze on their feet but on the ground is a different matter and after the Brit lands numerous blows he is turned on the ground and the Goergian locks in a body triangle. The Brit avoids a submission until the bell and surely has done enough to win.

Dolidze-Duncan: Round 2

Duncan lands with a big leaping knee but again we have the same process. Dolidze flails his legs and is let back up. Repeated attempts with a spinning punch aside, there is little other striking. He holds Duncan against the Octagon for a time. Another fine flurry sees Dolidze collapse to the floor. The Georgian's left eye is near closed now.

Dolidze-Duncan: Round 1

Dolidze brings Duncan down to the mat in the first minute. He gets up but can't loosen Dolidze's grasp and is taken down again. Finally he loosens the grip and he lands a spinning punch which Duncan takes pretty well. Duncan then connects with a flurry of blows which put Dolidze down to the canvas but the Brit is not willing to engage on the floor, so he lets the Georgian back up. Duncan lands another right hand which cuts Dolidze above the eyebrow then again he lets his opponent up. An interesting round.

Another tough assignment for a Brit

Middleweight Christian Leroy Duncan (13-2) takes on 11th-rated Georgian Roman Dolidze (15-4). Duncan has two KOs on the bounce though.

Silva stops Campbell in Round 2

A big right puts Campbell down and after continued blows on the floor the referee jumps in. Campbell at that moment was lunging back but you can see why the referee stopped it.

Campbell-Silva: Round 1

Silva comes out swinging for the fences, with Campbell more cerebral looking to catch him coming in. Silva takes Campbell down in the closing stages and after landing some shots, before and after the Brit gets back to his feet, the American takes the opener.

Kurtis Campbell (8-0) is given no gimme though as he faces the dangerous Danny Silva (10-2).

Pinto explains 'mum drama'

You expect family support heading into a fight in the Octagon - instead Mario Pinto was trying to get out of chores from his mum as he prepared to head to London. Pinto told the story with a smile at the post-fight press conference after his victory over Felipe Franco.

Pinto: Funny story today, yeah. I went home, and my mum tried to send me to the post office.
Not long before my flight, can you believe that?
Like it's normal day, we were arguing.
She's like, ‘just go to the post office for me, you got time’.
I was like, ‘I don't have time, I have to go and have a fight, you know?’
And my dad couldn't say nothing, because my mum will punch him up!
It is what it is.

Jones takes unanimous decision

Two judges give him the fight 29-28, with the other a generous 30-27.

Jones-Sola: Round 3

Jones starts off with a big shin on chin head kick which has Joens wobbling but Sola takes him down with a move straight out of his Dagestan training camp. Sola is more accurate but Jones throwing more and maybe have more effect. Sola twice misses takedowns and Jones responds with kicks to the solar plexus. Jones ends with repeated knee-lifts against the Octagon to surely take the fight.

Jones-Sola: Round 2

Without the explosions of the first round but still a very good, competitive fight. Jones lands on Sola's busted cheek but the Welshman is suffering with damage by his eye as well. Sola mixes up his work beautifully, landing some fine left hooks. As the round went on it looked like Jones was getting on top repeatedly landing combinations as well as a brutal knee lift and head kick. The cut on Sola's face is huge!

Jones-Sola: Round 1

Jones starts well landing inside leg kicks and straight-punch combinations but Sola then times a fantastic spinning punch which briefly puts Jones down. Sola then takes down Jones and has his back, though the Welshman gets to his feet. Back to their feet and Sola was now the boss landing brutal combinations. Jones then turned the fight landing a knee which cuts Sola's cheekbone and he follows up with shots chasing the Frenchman around the Octagon. Sola then takes Jones down to the mat. One hell of a round.

Wood wins split decision

Wood takes the fight on two cards 29-28, with the other going to Keita by the same score. Keita is pretty magnanimous about it. You might call it the slight home edge. The Carshalton fighter is unbeaten in London.

Wood-Keita: Round 3

Wood moving to southpaw had some joy landing right hands abut Keita's cobra-like shots, interspersed with front kicks, seemed to turn things around at the mid-point and Wood did not have much success thereafter bar a few calf kicks.

I think Keita just takes this.

Wood-Keita: Round 2

Keita did look the more dangerous puncher when he landed in the first half of the round but Wood, who is landing more leg kicks, tripped him shortly after the mid-point - though his opponent quickly bounced up. Wood's nose is now bloody after Keita landed repeated left jabs. On the buzzer he landed another which seemed to rock Wood a bit.

Wood-Keita: Round 1

Basically a boxing match in the first round, bar the odd front kicks. It mostly saw Wood looking to attack with jabs and Keita moving out of range.

Another Londoner in action. Nathaniel Wood (22-6) fights Losen Keita (16-1) in a featherweight bout. He comes into the fight as a 2-1 underdog.

Al-Selwady explains controversial end to Rock fight

The early prelims bout continued briefly after the end of the fight when Shem Rock gave a little punch to Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady.

This was after Rock pushed his opponent after initially offering his opponent his hand at the weigh-in. This time he reacted after Al-Selwady refused to shake his hand.

Al-Selwady: So after the fight [and] between every round, he'd tell me, ‘You wanna shake hands?’
And I looked at him and I was like, ‘No, because that's it. I don't respect you.’
And I was like, ‘No, this wasn't just business. You talk smack, but you don't disrespect someone like that.
And then he was like, ‘Shake hands, shake hands.’
And I'm not being aggressive or anything, I just said, ‘No, I don't wanna shake your hand. You don't deserve that. I just truly don't respect you. I don't hate you. I just don't respect you.’
And then the security is always just grabbing me, they're never grabbing my opponent.
They're just letting him throw the first thing, and then they just pull me.
But that was it.
And then he comes to me after the fight and he's like, ‘listen man, for real, this is just business. Please shake my hand.’
And I was like, ‘all right man, cool, I got you’.
Then we shook hands right before that decision.
And that's it.

He is given the fight 29-28 on all three scorecards.

Pinto-Franco: Round 3

As the fight is going on Pinto's extra size seems to be having more effect and he slams Franco to the mat. Franco got up but was met by a big knee lift straight away. Pinto lands good strieks in the closing stages but also has to eat a good knee-lift from Franco.

Pinto-Franco: Round 2

A low knee from Franco paused the action for a little while but Pinto wanted to get back to action soon. Pinto tried a takedown but again it was blocked by Franco. It is a hard fight to score. With just over a minute to go both landed good shots but then Pinto went for the takedown and was blocked. He did get Franco down briefly in the last minute.

Pinto-Franco: Round 1

A couple of times it seemed that Pinto might have landed on Franco but the French fighter just managed to avoid being caught. Franco landed more kicks but also had a couple caught by Pinto. Franco's muscular frame seems to make him able to handle the size difference. Pinto with a couple of elbows on the buzzer but needs to be more active.

Kondratavicius wins unanimous decision

An easy call for the judges.

Kondratavicius-Trocoli: Round 3

Trocoli lasted until the end of the fight which it did not look like he would for much of the contest. He got more competitive in the last round, as his head cleared from the bombardment earlier.

Kondratavicius-Trocoli: Round 2

A short right hand sees Trocoli drop to the canvas and he does well, with his flailing legs, to stop the Lithuanian stopping him there and then. A low blow, possibly milked, gave Trocoli time to recover. Trocoli is warned to move or told the fight would end. He endures numerous shots and a sleeper attempt at the end of the round.

Kondratavicius-Trocoli: Round 1

Precious little action as the pair hold each other against the Octagon for most of the round. The crowd boo their disapproval. In the last couple of seconds, Kondratacivius lands a couple of nice strikes.

Lithuanian Mantas Kondratavicius (8-1) takes on Antonio Trocoli (12-6).

Pericic wins in round one!

Sutherland got through with the first good blow and took down his opponent twice. But as they dueled on their feet Pericic was landing better uppercuts and knee lifts.

Sutherland went to the deck and the Balkan Bear continued to swing shots in. Though the Vanilla Gorilla tried to roll out, he could not get up and after multiple more shots, the referee stepped in.
