Just as Pedro Acosta was ready to celebrate a job well done after sealing a top-10 finish in Friday's practice, things went horribly wrong. The KTM rider came off his bike while cruising around the circuit in Argentina after the flag, leaving the TNT Sports team baffled at the "silly" error and pointing out that it would result in "three hours' extra work" for his mechanics.

Pedro Acosta’s Friday practice session at Grand Prix Argentina came to a "strange" and "silly" conclusion in a moment that baffled the TNT Sports commentary team.
The KTM rider safely secured a spot in Q2 for Saturday morning by clocking the ninth-fastest time, knocking two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia down into 10th.
However, while his flying lap went smoothly, his wind-down lap did not.
Acosta continued around the circuit after the flag had been waved to mark the end of the session as he headed back towards parc ferme to celebrate a job well done.
But instead, the Spaniard ended up in the gravel in an incident that confused the TNT team of Gavin Emmett, Michael Laverty and Neil Hodgson.
"What’s happened here?" said Emmett as the TV cameras cut to a shot of Acosta walking out from the crash.

"That’s strange after the flag," Laverty noted.
Just as they began to speculate whether he had clipped the back of another rider, a replay cleared things up, showing that Acosta had made a mess of rounding a turn.

"He’s just out on the slightly dirty part of the track and locked the front," Laverty said.
"He’s not actually loaded the tyre. Unfortunately, he’s grabbed a little too much brake pressure for not throwing his weight on it."

With Acosta simply cruising around the track on his own after finishing racing, the crash was unlikely to have gone down well with a team of mechanics who would have to pick up the pieces.
"That looks silly, doesn’t it? He was minding his own business," Emmett said.
"The team are there thinking they were about to have a nice quiet evening."
Hodgson commented: "The work involved there of repairing that, because it went down quite hard, it didn’t massively barrel roll, but it slammed down, it’s an extra three hours' work for everyone."
