The 2026 MotoGP season will return to our screens after a four-week break when the Grand Prix Great Britain gets underway live on TNT Sports and HBO Max. Aprilia's Jorge Martin is currently flying high in the title standings, 14 points ahead of nearest rival, Ai Ogura, with 11 race weekends remaining.

Marc Marquez stormed to victory in Germany before the summer break, completing a delightful double at the Sachsenring.

The 33-year-old was in complete control as he secured his 10th Grand Prix race victory at the German track, repeating his sprint performance from the day before to move up into third in the overall standings.

Ogura and Marquez leapfrogged Marco Bezzecchi, who now occupies fourth place after another injury setback.

He suffered a fractured collarbone during a crash in qualifying in Germany on his comeback from a concussion.

Championship leader Martin made the best of a difficult weekend by getting the better of Francesco Bagnaia on his way to finishing fifth, but his lead over compatriot Marquez has been cut to 18 points.

Cal Crutchlow will become the first Briton to race at Grand Prix Great Britain since he competed at the event five years ago, with the LCR Honda rider replacing Johann Zarco for a sixth consecutive race weekend, having returned to the sport in place of the Frenchman at Mugello in May.

Action from Silverstone begins with practice on Friday, August 7, followed by qualifying and the Sprint race on Saturday, August 8.

The Grand Prix itself will take place on Sunday, August 9.

Bezzechi won Grand Prix Great Britain in 2025, and he will hope for a repeat this year.

How to watch Grand Prix Great Britain

Every race weekend is available live and on-demand via TNT Sports and its streaming platform, HBO Max.

What is a MotoGP Sprint race?

Introduced at the start of the 2023 season, the Sprint race is half the number of laps as the Grand Prix and offers half the points.

The winner of a Grand Prix on a Sunday gets 25 points, with the winner of the Sprint earning 12 points. Second place in the Sprint gets nine points, third gets seven, all the way down to the last scoring position in ninth.
