The 2026 MotoGP season is coming towards the end of its summer break, with Marc Marquez currently running away with the championship, now 120 points ahead of his brother Alex, having won the last five races in a row. With those remaining 10 races coming to you on TNT Sports and Discovery+, the 2026 schedule has been released - with Brazil returning to the schedule for the first time in 22 years.

With 10 races left of the 2025 MotoGP season and Marc Marquez running away with proceedings, we look ahead to next year’s offerings.

A thrilling schedule, packed together with 22 Grands Prix across five continents and the much-awaited return of Brazil – it is set to be another incredible season.

Marc Marquez, in his first season with Ducati Lenovo has raced 120 points clear of his brother Alex (BK8 Gresini Racing) as he looks set to close in on his first MotoGP title since 2019.

He now boasts eight wins so far this season, including the most recent five in a row, and will be looking to continue that record at Austria’s Red Bull Ring on August 17, which you can watch live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

What is the format of a MotoGP race weekend?

The race weekend kicks off on a Friday morning with a free practice session, and a timed session that afternoon to decide which riders will enter Qualifying 2.

The final practice session takes place on a Saturday morning, before jumping into Qualifying 1 and 2, which determine the starting grid ahead of the Sprint race on Saturday afternoon.

The riders and teams start off Sunday morning with a warm-up session to prepare for the main event - the race - which takes place that afternoon.

What to look out for in 2026?

If you look at the race list, there is one in particular that stands out – Brazil.

Returning for the first time since 2004, seeing all the riders taking to the Ayrton Senna Circuit in the second round of the 2026 season is something that immediately raises the hairs on the back of your neck.

In the vibrant city of Goiania, riders will make the trip to a true MotoGP hub in between the traditional opening flyaway round, again in Thailand and the third round in Austin, Texas.

If you compare to this season, there are some significant changes to the race scheduling, not least the British Grand Prix moving back to its traditional slot, with riders and fans congregating to Silverstone in August as opposed to May like this season.

There has been a re-jig among the regional Spanish Grand Prix, with the Aragon Grand Prix moving to the end of August and the Catalunya Grand Prix shifting to May.

Traditionalists will be delighted to see the usual end to the season though, with the exact same flyaway races taking place in Japan, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia, before the same two European weekends cap off the season – in Portugal and Valencia – in a tough schedule of four races in five weeks.

How to watch MotoGP on TNT Sports and discovery+?

TNT Sports will continue to be the home of MotoGP after last year agreeing a multi-year deal to broadcast the championship in the UK and Ireland.

Live coverage of MotoGP Grand Prix races and Tissot Sprints will give fans the opportunity to continue to watch the likes of Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Viewers in the UK and Ireland will also be able to follow the fortunes of British rider Jake Dixon in Moto2 and the up-and-coming home heroes in Moto3, as well as all qualifying and practice sessions live.

As part of the deal, TNT Sports and discovery+ will also broadcast the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship, the FIM MotoE World Championship, and competitions from the Road to MotoGP, the talent promotion initiative aimed at increasing the accessibility of motorcycle racing.

Continuing from the 2025 season there will be a new show on Friday evenings called The Inside Line which will be a half hour round up of all the news, action and analysis from the first day of the MotoGP weekend.

Again continuing from last season, there will also be a weekly highlights show on its free-to-air channel Quest which will air on Mondays. Quest will also have every Sprint race available on a short delay.
