Former world champion Francesco Bagnaia said that Grand Prix Thailand winner Marc Marquez was "playing" with the rest of the riders.
Marquez is the Italian’s new team-mate at Ducati Lenovo and he dominated the race weekend.
The Spaniard claimed a victory in Saturday’s Sprint race before completing the double on Sunday.
Bagnaia had failed to manage his tyres on a sweltering day, with Marquez and his brother Alex impressing for a one-two finish.
Both Alex and Marc held the lead at times during the race, but it was the latter who eventually took the win.
Speaking to TNT Sports at the end of the race, Bagnaia said: "I gave my all and I could not be too close to Alex to try and attack.
"Marc was playing with us all the way."
The two-time champion added that he knew he would not be able to beat Marquez, so aimed to be the best of the rest.
He continued: "So my maximum ambition was to finish in P2 but we finished in P3.
"I tried my best, but I was slower and I was losing more time in some parts of the track."
