Henry Arundell savouring Bath outings with 'very accepting' group as PREM leaders hammer sorry Saracens

Henry Arundell said that Bath are a uniquely "accepting" group of players and coaches as he praised his team in the aftermath of a whopping 62-15 win over Saracens. The victory sends Bath top of the Gallagher PREM table before a thrilling weekend of rugby, live on TNT Sports and discovery+. Arundell ran in two tries during the dominant win, including a stellar intercept score.

Henry Arundell is back in Bath colours relishing being able to perform for the club that he loves playing for.

The winger was dropped by England during the Six Nations, but has returned to the PREM with a pep in his step and an eagerness to perform for Bath.

He used that energy to produce two tries in the club's huge 62-15 win over Saracens on Friday night, one of which was an electrifying intercept try in the first half that secured Bath's bonus point.

The 23-year-old spoke to TNT Sports in the aftermath of a bruising win, and reaffirmed his love and commitment to a "special" group of players.

"I love playing for Bath, that's for sure," Arundell said. "Six Nations was disappointing but, it's such a fun league and it's an awesome team to be a part of.

"Boyhood club, it's a dream come true every week"

He continued: "It means a lot. I knew it would be special but there's a feeling every time we come here and put on the shirt, it's like I've tapped into an emotion that I haven't had before, and I love it every single time."

Five points catapults Bath to the top of the table before a blockbuster weekend of rugby, live on TNT Sports.

While the standings are likely to change, with Northampton Saints hosting bottom of the table Newcastle Falcons, Bath already have an eye on a tough trip to Sale Sharks next weekend.

"We don't get ahead of ourselves, Johaan [van Graan, the head coach] is very good at keeping us never too high, never too low. That consistency brings our performances," Arundell added.

"It's a great group. This group is very accepting of all people and that's quite special, to think you can be yourself. Sometimes in other environments you have to play a part.

"Johaan is a human man first, he really cares about us as men and boys growing up, and then the rugby. It's a special thing to have."

'Bath still after 80-minute performance' - Bayliss

Josh Bayliss delivered yet another player of the match performance against Saracens as they did the double over the Londoners.

Despite racking up more than 60 points, it was somewhat a slow start for the hosts, who let Saracens strike with a try inside the first minute.

And Bayliss knows that his side still have plenty more levels to reach in terms of performances this season as they chase a true 80-minute performance.

"I don't think we've put a full 80-minute performance in yet this season," the back-rower said. "That's what we're really after. I thought we took another step forward here. We didn't start well but we grew into the game and hit our straps in that second half.

"It was a lot of fun but really tough. That first 20 minutes, Sarres came out firing with that try and put us on the back foot.

"We had to dig deep. But so happy with how we stuck to our process. We did what we always do and I thought the bench were brilliant when they came on. Really pleased to get over the line."
