German Masters final - Judd Trump claims victory over Shaun Murphy to scoop title

Judd Trump beats Shaun Murphy 10-4 in the final of the German Masters. The three-time champion Trump edged the first session 5-3 and then stole the first two frames of the evening on the black ball. From this point onward, there was little doubt that he would lift the trophy in front of the enthusiastic crowd at the Tempodrom in Berlin.

Trump ends ranking trophy drought

Judd Trump won his first ranking trophy tournament for 14 months in taking the German Masters, beating Shaun Murphy 10-4 in the final.

Trump pulled ahead early in the first session taking a 5-2 lead with a century and three fifties, before Murphy's second hundred of the match kept him fully in contention going into the evening session.

The first frame of the evening proved pivotal, Murphy began impressively with a 60 break but Trump came back to steal the frame and went on to also take the following frame on the black.

Two half-centuries extended his lead to within a frame of victory and though Murphy pulled one back, it always looked an impossible task to get back into the match.

Trump won another scrappy frame to seal the match and his first ranking tournament win since the 2024 UK Championship.

He looked to clear up but missed the green and Murphy offers his hands in congratulation.

A rare, very poor safety from Trump. He hits a red much too thin, hits the middle pocket and sets up Murphy with an easy chance and directly on the blue.
