Judd Trump can take another giant step towards becoming the first man in snooker history to twice reach a century of centuries when he begins his quest for glory at the Players Championship in Telford. The world No. 1 faces Lei Peifan in the first round on Tuesday night, chasing 14 more tons to emulate his feat in the 2019/20 campaign when he reached 102, after Neil Robertson hit 103 in 2014.

Judd Trump is set to continue his quest to become a historic double centurion when he faces Scottish Open champion Lei Peifan on Tuesday night, in his tournament opener at the Players Championship in Telford.
Trump moved onto 86 for the season by producing 12 at the World Open in Yushan, where he lost 5-2 to Joe O'Connor in the last 32, and the World Grand Prix in Hong Kong, where he lost 6-3 to Stuart Bingham in the semi-finals.
Nobody else is in contention to claim the £100,000 bonus for the season, with Mark Selby and world champion Kyren Wilson a distant second on 57.
An extended run at the 16-player Players Championship this week and 12-player Tour Championship in Manchester (March 31 to April 6), would boost Trump's hopes of reaching the total before the season-ending World Championship.
Snooker's showpiece event of the year begins in Sheffield next month (April 19 to May 5), live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Neil Robertson was the first player to hit the century mark in a season when he made 103 during the 2013/14 campaign, but Trump is on course to become the first man to reach the magical mark twice.

Both Robertson and Trump achieved the century feat during the World Championship at the Crucible Theatre, but not with the added incentive of a six-figure bonus on the table.
Despite being only 14 centuries short of the total, much could come down to the playing conditions and tables at the Telford International Centre.
Mark Allen produced five centuries during his run to the Players title in Telford last year. A similar output would see Trump move onto 91 before the Tour Championship.

"It's a combination of winning matches and playing matches on tables like these, there's no getting away from it," said former world No. 3 Neal Foulds during the World Open, an event that produced 97 tons.
"The scoring has been big all week from everybody. Players are very good nowadays, and you only need conditions to be like this... it's like a pro golf tour, where you've got perfect conditions, you've got wide fairways and perfect wind and all of that.
"Someone will shoot a 59 or something. All those good things are in unison with each other. Right now, the scoring is very big on these tables."
