His double-up in Shanghai also landed the bumper top prize of ÂŁ210,000.
Trump recovered from losing the opening frame, making breaks of 73 and 62 for a 3-1 lead.
He then snatched the sixth frame on the black from 66-0 down with a superb 67 clearance.
Despite Wilson responding with 63, further runs of 55 and 82 stretched Trump's advantage to 7-3 heading into the second session.
Though The Warrior hit a break of 103 on the way to reducing his deficit to 8-5, Trump stole frames 14 and 15 on the black and pink, respectively, to close in on victory.
Wilson kept his title defence alive with a magnificent 134 total clearance. However, it only delayed the inevitable, with his opponent controlling the following frame to get over the line.

Trump 10-6 Wilson (65-5)

We're at the snookers required stage, with Trump almost over the line.
He'll want to pot another couple of balls just to make sure...

Trump 10-6 Wilson (34-5)

He misses a red to the right centre, and Trump has another chance...

Trump 10-6 Wilson (34-0)

Trump has his first chance to secure frame, match and the championship.
However, he runs out of reds on 34, then misses with an ambitious attempt from range.
With the reds now nicely split, Wilson has a chance to close the gap in this frame at the very least.

Trump 7-3 Wilson (43-49)

Wilson can't quite develop the final red favourably, but a loose safety leaves it over the right corner.

It could be an important one, too, early in this final session.

Trump 7-3 Wilson (42-23)

Wilson has an early chance, but is unable to make the most of it.
Trump gets himself in front, though is forced to play safe after running out of position.

The story so far

It's so far so good for Trump, who is just four frames away from becoming only the fourth multiple winner of the Shanghai Masters.
The 2024 champion recovered from losing the opening frame, with breaks of 73 and 62 for a 3-1 lead.
He then snatched the sixth frame on the black from 66-0 down with a superb 67 clearance.
Despite Wilson responding with 63, further runs of 55 and 82 stretched Trump's advantage heading into this second session.

Good afternoon

Welcome back everyone!
It's almost time for this blockbuster Shanghai Masters final to resume.
Just a reminder that world No. 1 Judd Trump leads defending champion Kyren Wilson by seven frames to three.

Don't go far

That's all for this morning, but we've only got around an hour-and-a-half until this final resumes.
Trump is in a commanding position, needing just four more frames for victory.
But don't rule out Wilson, who will demonstrate all of his battling qualities later to defend his title.
Join us at 12:30 UK time for the second session!

Wilson returns to the table, and needs one snooker on the pink...

Trump 5-3 Wilson (51-37)

Trump breaks down on 45 after running out of position.
However, he's quickly back at the table after a loose safety from Wilson.

Trump 5-3 Wilson (5-37)

Wilson won't want to see that pink again!
Going along well in frame nine, he appears to get a bad contact on a routine pink to the right corner.
The Warrior was quickly up off that one!

Trump 4-3 Wilson (55-0)

Trump looks on course to respond by clinching the frame in a single visit.
However, an attempted cannon doesn't go as planned on 55, so there's still hope for Wilson in this frame.

Trump 4-3 Wilson

A long red puts the frame beyond any doubt for Wilson, who halves his deficit.

Trump 4-2 Wilson (16-64)

A break of 63 leaves Trump needing four snookers.
The world number one plays on for now, but it's a big ask...

Trump 4-2 Wilson (16-19)

Both players saw early chances go begging in this seventh frame.
Wilson has another opportunity, though, to put the events of the previous frame behind him.

Steal! Trump 4-2 Wilson

How crucial a moment will that prove to be?!
Trump nervelessly clears with 67 to snatch frame six on the black.
That will hurt Wilson!

Trump 3-2 Wilson (0-66)

This is more like it from the Warrior, or is it...?
He puts together a nice break of 66, only to miss frame-ball red.

Trump can't get on the green, and has to play safe.
However, Wilson then neatly doubles the green to the left centre, and it's enough to secure the frame.

Trump 3-1 Wilson (19-45)

Wilson gets another opportunity, but misses frame-ball yellow to the left centre.
He leaves a thin cut for Trump, though there's no guarantee of positioning on the green.

Trump 3-1 Wilson (15-25)

The scrappy nature of this fifth frame is epitomised by the fact that Wilson leads 25-15 with just three reds remaining.
They're all in the open, too, so both players are tip-toeing during the ongoing tactical exchange.

Trump 3-1 Wilson (0-15)

The players return from the mid-session interval, and Wilson has an early chance.
He can only make 15, though, before running out of position.
That was despite this stunning development shot from the yellow...

Familiar foes

This isn't the first time the two players have faced off in a final.
It's actually the seventh, and the head-to-head record makes for interesting reading...

The frame's over as Wilson leaves the yellow on to the green pocket.
That missed red with the rest earlier on proved costly for the defending champion.

Trump clears the remaining reds for a break of 73, which puts him at the snookers required stage.
Wilson, only needing one, plays on...

He then clears to the pink to level.

Trump 0-1 Wilson (47-37)

Bridging awkwardly on the right side rail, Trump miscues when trying to pot the final red.
He's fortunate not to leave it on, so there are still legs in this second frame.

Trump 0-1 Wilson (27-37)

A fluked long red presents another chance to Wilson, who is going along nicely.
However, a missed black off the spot gives Trump an unexpected opportunity to capitalise.

Trump 0-1 Wilson (27-4)

Trump has the first chance of the second frame.
Despite a brilliant long blue, he runs out of position on 27, and is forced to play safe.
Wilson knocks in a long red, but a poor positional shot from the subsequent green means the tactical exchange will recommence.

Trump 0-1 Wilson

This time, Wilson takes his chance, with a run of 48 getting him over the line in this opening frame.

Trump 0-0 Wilson (1-35)

The Warrior with another opportunity, but he can only stretch his lead rather than build a frame-winning break.
Both players are still finding their feet in this final, and understandably so.
