Stuart Bingham left 'furious' as he points to crowd after bizarre miss in World Grand Prix semi-final with Judd Trump

Stuart Bingham cruised to a 6-3 victory over world No. 1 Judd Trump at the World Grand Prix. He can now look ahead to a mouth-watering final against Neil Robertson at the Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong. However, the contest did not go as smoothly for Bingham, as the result would suggest. He missed a simple shot on a red after seeming to be distracted by something moving in his eyeline.

Stuart Bingham was "furious" after movement in the crowd appeared to cost him a simple red during his World Grand Prix semi-final victory against Judd Trump.

Bingham was cruising towards victory in the sixth frame after taking a 75-7 lead, but he misfired a shot to the bottom-right pocket.

After missing the pot, Bingham pointed into the crowd with his cue and was visibly agitated by something while he mouthed an indecipherable phrase.

Fortunately for Bingham, he was 4-1 up in the match, and the error still left Trump needing a snooker to take the frame in Hong Kong.

However, 'Ball-run' was on a roll, and was visibly angry after handing 'The Ace in the Pack' a route back into the contest.

The TNT Sports commentary team were quick to acknowledge Bingham's frustration.

"Oh he has missed the red, he has missed the red," said Philip Studd. "Trump does need a snooker - that's the good news for Bingham. But he is furious. He clearly felt someone had moved in his eyeline."

His fellow TNT Sports commentator Neal Foulds was confident that something must have put Bingham off.

"He's 68 in front, but it was a real jab actually, I will say that," added Foulds.

"I don't know what happened. Perhaps someone put him off."

Bingham went on to win the frame and eventually book his place in the final at the Kai Tak Arena with a 6-3 triumph over the world No. 1.

The world No. 23 will now take on Neil Robertson after the Australian battled back from 5-3 down to beat Shaun Murphy 6-5.
