Trump hammers Lloyd to move into round two
Judd Trump looked in ominous form, thrashing Mark Lloyd 5-1 in his first appearance at the World Open. Lloyd, an amateur, was a late replacement after Chris Tottern pulled out of the event, and he gave decent account of himself, losing a tight first frame after 40 minutes and taking the fourth with a break of 78. But in between times, Trump was dominant, sealing victory with a clearance of 129 and setting up a second-round clash with Florian Nussle of Austria.

Mark is an amateur who wasn't meant to be playing in this match; Chris Totten was down to face Judd but, when he pulled out, his place went to the highest available player from the Q School top up list, so here we are. Anyroad up, Judd is quickly away but, not on a colour, he uses pink to snuggle in behind blue, and has the escape left him a pot along the top rail? It has you know, and down it goes, but knowing he won't be able to get on to the next red, he plays safe once more.
